Let us discuss the forerunners of the great Ottoman empire which was the almost never talked about Sultanate of Rum, which sprung up from the remnants of the great Seljuk empire.

How did such a small Oghuz state last so long between Crusader states, Muslim dynasties, Mongolians and the other Persianates in Anatolia?
How come no one tried to absorb it during that time, other than the Mongols that turned the beyliks into vassals?

If Byzantium wasn't fucked up by the 4th crusade then they would gobbled up whatever remained of the Turks after the Mongols would fuck their shit up.

when the mongols happened byzantines had already lost the balkans to the ottomans you halfwit

Anatolia was pretty much turkfucked way before the 4th crusade.

The Ottomans didn't even exist by the time the Mongols touched Anatolia, you dolt.

Most of the Balkans were pretty much non-Byzantine since the 7th century (with some 150 years in the 11th and 12th centuries when Bulgaria was conquered)

You are obsessed with Ottoman and Islam, aren't you ? Are you that mad ?

Kill yourself.

Please, this is a civilized board where we talk about history.
Take that sub-80 IQ rhetoric back to where it belongs.

>early architecture

Persian/Arab Muslim

>late architecture

Stolen from the Byzantines

>legal system and tax codes

Stolen from Arabs

>military structure

West Europe/Arab mix

>religion

Arabic

>alphabet

Latin

>Hagia Sophia 'mosque'

Actually a church

>kebab

Gyro

Did the Ottomans actually create anything original at all?

the fez

It was an EMPIRE so you have your answer.

Harems filled with balkan sluts in Anatolia.

The Ottomans are a much more relevant Empire than the Byzantine 'Empire'

Even that was Greek.

I know this is bait but gyro is actually interesting: It was 'invented' after 1974, just like 'Greek' coffee and yogurt(itself a Turkish word).

No it was north african you retard.

>Kebab
That was stolen from the Persians and Iranians. Also late Iron Age Persian and Byzantine architecture and art were largely identical due to the centuries of cultural exchange, infussion, and what not.

The world would be a much better place if the turks never expanded further than this.

this board would be substantially worse

that doesn't say much

Yeah, worse at identifying roach infestations

why iceland?

Ottomans raided there once

>alphabet
>Latin
topkek

only retards think you are actually Turkish.

>never controlled any part of Persia
>never remotely controlled Italian islands
>never got past Egypt and Libya in North Africa
Nice meme map

At least two of your three points are arguably wrong though

the world would be a much better place if turkey stayed as beyliks
also if they had genocided non-turks in the areas they control, especially the mamluks

why do you trip again?

your posts are borderline retarded

Nope, retard.
>borderline retarded
He's full on retard.

>The treaty is known as the Treaty of Constantinople or the treaty of Ferhad Pasha (Ferhad Pasha was the commander (Turkish: serdar) of the Ottoman Army). According to the treaty, the Ottoman Empire kept its gains in the war. These included most of the southern Caucasus, as well as Tabriz and northwest Iran.[3] Persians also agreed to pay obeisance to religious leaders of the Sunni faith.
