I went back to playing Scorch today and holy shit does he get fucked by everyone except retard Ronin's and Legions who are less than 10 feet away.
My boi seriously needs a buff, like giving him the extra plating as a default stat and then buffing the kit to give him full invulnerability for his fire, or a raster reload. He is just not intimidating to any titan.
Jaxson Lopez
Every time I see a player drop with a Scorch I use one too because I don't want to bully him. Or if I use Northstar I just leave.
Colton Jones
Scorch can do massive damage, but only if you can't block his thermite or otherwise don't see him coming. He loses to most stand-up fights at medium range or larger.

I've wanted to come back to Titanfall 2 for a while now but everytime I think about coming back I remember all the stupid bullshit like Tone and the volt.
Has the game actually been balanced yet or is there still absolutely no variety in matches with everyone just playing the most overpowered bullshit there is.
Oliver Johnson
>still absolutely no variety in matches with everyone just playing the most overpowered bullshit there is. It's Ion and R97 now. There's usually 70% Ion and Tone and rest are people that want to have fun.
Lincoln Gonzalez
How can I be half as cool as you, Shampoo
John Flores
watch kemono friends
Dylan Clark
That's lame. I hoped that maybe with the declining player base that there'd be less meta faggots shitting all over the game. I loved this game but I just got so sick of constantly getting killed by (and only getting killed by) the Tone faggots.
Aaron Ross
The only thing I know about that is Shoebill and that she is a cute.
Ryder Campbell
Tone got a major nerf and is nowhere near the level she was. Her salvo core gets eaten by gunshield and particle wall now.
Also, rip the volt
May ye rest in peace

you're on the right path then

>Independant settlers stand against the overwhelming power of a corporate colony ship with only their determination, courage, and the skills learned in the long wars of home. Innocent scientists are slaughtered as they try to survey a new and alien world. The struggle on Ilus threatens to spread all the way back to Earth.

I'd love a book showcasing the backstories, rivalries and squad dynamics of the Apex Predators and 6-4. Expand their characters a bit.
Jayden Miller
Is she in a lot of episodes or nah
I'll watch it only for her
Asher Moore
I'd be interested in a book showing off Sarah Briggs's work as a clandestine black ops operative and how she became one of the biggest thorns in the IMC's side before she became leader of MCOR. Imagine a younger, angrier Sarah, more freshly incensed at the IMC for their atrocities and her idealism leading her to do some wicked shit.
Juan Garcia
she's really only in two episodes and has absurdly minor roles watch it for the real star: youtu.be/Ica4945ACOw

Isaiah Howard
Yeah. The descriptions of the sheer horror of living on Ilus after the disaster was handled very well, and really got across the sheer dread anyone would feel in the situation. I've currently got NG on order to arrive this week but the Babylon's Ashes paperback doesn't release til october and I don't want to mess up my shelf, so I'll have to wait for a while for book 6.
But yeah. I haven't been this engrossed in a good book series since I read all the ASOIAF novels in two months flat a couple years back.
Aaron Fisher
A noveo focusing on the Titan Wars would be cool. Show off the stuff you said plus expand on Barker and MacAllam's counterinsurgency tactics that would "inform IMC strategy for decades to come", MacAllan's friendship with Graves and the events surrounding the Odyssey.
Fuck. Just hire Eric Nylund to write a Titanfall book already. Respawn pls.
Hudson Garcia
lmao, I have exactly the same problem with my shelf. I read them all already though, buying the books because I felt the need to own them on my shelf.

The only crime is that you can't disable neck breaker. That'd be fine and dandy if it was the original execution from TF1 though. Especially with the first person perspective. That was always horrifically jarring in a good way.
Ethan Perry
>Got my first Titan kill via Titanfall today >MFW
Was a Ronin, was standing and blocking shots from a Legion, so I called it, figuring he'd move and I'd at least be able to quickly murder him once it arrived.
But no, watched the seconds count down, whoosh, boom, he's deader than disco.
Oh, and quick question, does the shield around titans when they drop damage pilots? I dropped before, was hopping in when a dude tried to grapple onto me, but he seemed to just stop where the shield was, die and I got credit for the kill.
Brayden Rogers
Yeah, the shields deals tickle damage if you stand inside it.
Dominic Green
Ahh, gotcha. Well at least I know not to try and mount 'em whilst they're in shields now!
Also, do AI titans not pop smoke? I've seen a lot of people A, using Enhanced AI and B, letting their titans roam about, so I've been hopping on them and stealing batteries like it's my job.
Brody Foster
Auto titans are usually easy pickings for batteries. The only real danger is a nearby pilot who can kill you when you're helpless on the back.
Angel Green
Picking pilots off auto titans can be pretty tricky depending on where you are. They move around and juke a lot, even when being rodeo'd. It's almost easier to just toss a satchel at them or something.
Owen Howard
So what's the logic behind hitscan being in game anyway? I roll EPG and memestiff, but it seems like the netcode and the games speed both favor hitscan heavily; dying around corners, instant damage delivery, nearly non-existent dropoff, etc.
What's worse is when I see hitscanners in chat whining about the projectile weapons. Is there any good reason the game doesn't use 100% projectile weapons?
Joshua Phillips
Oh, and I forgot to mention, your projectiles vanishing when you die, which is probably my biggest peeve. It's a distinctive advantage in game engineering for hitscan.
Ian Johnson
Every weapon should behave like the Wingman Elite tbqh.
Anthony Watson
Been gone playing Nier and persona and haven't played it checked in in almost two weeks, what have I missed pilots?
Gabriel Stewart
Elite is a projectile, so yeah. The code is clearly there already.
I reckon it's just too much of a skill gap if all guns relied on it. Problem is that people use the entry weapons as crutches and oversaturate the game.
David Hernandez
There was only one pilot primary in the first game that was projectile - the Kraber. The Sidewinder, MGL and Archer were dedicated AT weapons as opposed to pilot primaries.
That combined with most modern shooters using hitscan almost exclusively and the devs wanting to make the game "more accessible" than the first mean that the hitscans are the predominant force
Jose Perez
Phase shift and arc grenades were patched out. Scorch is good now.
Lucas Price
>Glitch is a 10/10 map that never shows up in playlists >Most people like the new Live Fire map, Deck, though I really hate it >MRVN faction is kind of cool but no replacement for OI >Ion is now the meta Titan >Gates uses her based campaign model rather than retextured Jack Cooper >Live Fire maps are in private match now >Ronin and Tone prime are coming next update >A shit ton of info about Monarch including some modded gameplay for it >you missed Titan Brawl - basically LTS with respawns and no ejects >not much on the balance front has really drastically changed since Colony
Ian Morales
Overall that doesn't look too bad, I was afraid I missed a lot more. Kinda bummed I missed that brawl though, was looking forward to that
Caleb Anderson
They'll be rotating it back in at some point. Current featured playlist (I forgot to mention) is Marked For Death.
There's also Iron LTS coming at some point which is regular LTS with no ejecting or getting out of your titan.
Brayden Cox
Projectiles vanishing is a quirk of the servers. You may have fired the gun on your end, but if you died quickly enough, as far as the servers are concerned, you died before you could snap off your shot.
Justin Hall
I believe the kill cams also support this, generally on the other person's screen you never even fired. Feels cheap but I can't imagine how many kills I've gotten because of this so I can't complain
Joseph Peterson
A couple balance changes/bugfixes in the Glitch patch are important and worth pointing out. >Mastiff's projectiles expand much sooner, which improves its close-range consistency dramatically >EVA-8's effective lethal range was cut in half, although the pellet spread is wider now >Archer was slightly nerfed with reduced tracking, so it's not as oppressive now >Ronin got a bugfix that now lets him properly block EVERYTHING with Sword Block, meaning Northstar can't bully him anymore >You can only carry one arc grenade now (recharge cooldown reduced to compensate)
Parker Hughes
>Most modern shooters BF has been using all projectile weapons since BF3.
There's a way to balance them to make it clear that hitscan is okay to start with, but you'll excel with projectiles. That's something Tribes: A got right.
Wut? I'm not the only person it happens to and even on the killcam I see my shot. If it's actually coded like that then that's bullshit that clearly favors hitscan weapons.
Ayden Morris
You just have to be faster, my man.
Nathan Reyes
How can you be faster than physics breaking boolets?
Noah Hill
Battlefield isn't most shooters though.
Ayden White
>weapons that fire bullets are hitscan with no travel time >literal LASER guns are projectile weapons that require lead on targets to hit
really makes you think
Jacob Miller
most good shooters dont use hitscan
Jacob Sanders
...
Christian Edwards
Battlefield is one of the biggest. The fuck are you on about?
Adrian Perry
Battlefield is also slow as fuck and is on a different scale compared to Titanfall.
Asher Gomez
Why use guns when you can grapple?
Blake Martinez
Not the first time I've seen this argument.
TF2 would benefit from 100% projectile because the area denial offered by hitscan weapons is insane compared to projectiles. Two dudes on a roof in CTF games on a few maps can completely lock it down at any range.
Using projectile mechanics would add a skill gap to long distance usage and reduce the dominance of shitscan at long range.
In CQB an SMG should dominate. The ARs should have a manageable projectile pattern to make them more effective at middle to long range for groupings. It wouldn't be hard to balance at all and would give each weapon a more distinctive role as opposed to the r97 just outperforming everything.
Aaron Harris
...
Aaron Torres
I had a ronin yesterday survive an entire smart core with the sensor array.
That weebstick needs a balancing of some kind.
Jack Butler
It might be big, but the vast majority of shooters still don't use projectiles for their majority of weapons.
I never mentioned the quality of the games. Just the most non-indieshit titles do use primarily hitscan, and the devs specifically said they wanted to make the game more accessible.
Logan Lewis
>more accessible >currently homogenizes the game
There's got to be a sweet spot in there somewhere.
Cameron Long
Why are the devs forcing Crash site on us? Is it because it's one of two maps where Scorch isn't useless?
What a horrible map.
Easton Bell
I'm pretty sure Respawn is aware that Crash Site is one of the most despised maps in the game. Thematically, it's a fine map, but structurally, it's a pain.
Dominic Carter
Boy did I pick an awkward time to start leveling the EVA
Logan Jenkins
It's better than homestead. Fuck that map.
Bentley Flores
>Scorch is good now. why would you lie on the internet?
Levi Collins
It will be true next patch, you'll see.
Josiah Hall
>Scorch is shit >Northstar gets out-dpsed and out-sniped by Ion >guess I'll play Legion >everyone else is playing Ion and flashing their shields in my face
Delete this Titan right now
Daniel Sanchez
Just got out-sniped by the fucking mozambique on angel city, just fuck me up
Also when is the patch that remove hitscans?
Julian White
I honestly like crash site, sure it's got a ton of problems but it's hands down my best map. I'm a scorch main so I might be biased though.
I totally agree that homestead is ass though
Mason Rodriguez

What is this Scorch is shit meme you shitstains keep spouting Easily the worst titan sure, but it's not like he's a chore to play Give me a choice between scorch and tone in any given situation and I'll pick Scorch every time
Ian Williams
Yes, the Mozambique is a projectile weapon.
Easton Sanchez
It's just shitters who don't know how to play her, once you get a few dozen hours logged it's really not that bad. If they wanna buff Scorch and make it easier than that's fine by me
