You're just giving me more and more fuel that proves he's faking it. Him wanting to be a hero and wanting to be in the limelight is a legitimate character trait of his, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the point I was bringing up which was, is he a black and white character? good and bad? conflicted? Him wanting to be famous and wanting to be a hero while not actually doing good deeds means absolutely nothing in terms of where he stands good/evil or if he's even conflicted about his actions. It's something legit that he wants and doesn't fake, but doesn't actually contribute to that white/black character trait that's supposedly associated with him.

Akechi is perfectly happy about his situation. He kills whoever Shido asks him to without a second thought. He shows some humanity when he suggests sparing the rest of the Phantom Thieves, but that's behind the motive of him striking fear so deep into them that he might come for them next, which means them living the rest of their lives in fear. Not exactly a good guy move.

He has no conflict until the end. He is 100% evil and kills without a second thought. His 5 second moments of him spacing out such as after he killed Joker and was on the talk show are certainly not enough to show a legitimate conflict within him, and we both agreed that the terrible anime cutscene makes no sense and shows him with no remorse whatsoever. But you can't just ignore it and write it away just because you don't like it. It's in the game, and it's technically part of his character. If you think it doesn't fit and seems like a totally different character in that moment, well so do I, and that's exactly the point I make with Akechi. He does not feel like one concise character, and certainly does not feel like the way they intended him to be which was a character that was black and white, and you couldn't tell where his loyalties lied. They made him antagonistic from the start, you knew where his loyalty lied.

You fuse a Shiki-Ouji that has Pulinpa and Confuse Boost from an Onmoraki and Flauros. Then you Gallows strengthen it with a Treasure Persona to pump Luck until you run out of yen. Then go to Mementos and fight one of the bosses from the requests that you can use Confuse on (list here megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Mementos).

You also need Invigorate 3 on Joker, easiest way is to buy the SP Accessory 3 from Takemi for 50k yen. Go in solo and fight the boss. Pulina is only 5 SP and Invigorate regens 7 per turn so you have infinite SP. Cast Pulinpa and then guard until it runs out. Depending on the level of the boss and your luck and the difficulty level of the game it will drop between 50k - 100k+ yen per turn. You can get to the max yen of 9,999,9999 in like an hour or so if everything aligns right.
