4 is massively better than 3 but that isn't saying much to begin with.
It basically is Skyrim with guns now. Magic weapon enchantments that make no sense and a prototype settlement system that will be overhauled and fixed for TESVI.

The game itself plays like a decent shooter but it all feels like a soulless husk that even mods can't redeem. You'll spend the entire time running missions so you can have a reason to go to pre-war building X for Y components to build up your shitty shanty town. Even running around in slut gear trying to waifu it up just gets boring.

Equipment menu is for characters to equip stuff.
Inventory is just for them to hold stuff.

Equipment is just that, a pool of items the NPC will draw from to equip. Whatever is in there can and will be used. Inventory is just "backpack" and cannot be accessed by them. If you don't want them to use certain wepons or armor, put them in their inventory instead.

Can I use a body replacer like CBBE and have it only work with unclothed models, and not have to worry about finding reformatted outfits that fit it?

Equipment is like vanilla. They wear whatever you put in there, and have a carry limit.

Inventory lets you dump an infinite amount of junk with no weight restrictions.

Also you can set a container as a dumping spot. When you dismiss a follower or they die, everything in the inventory location will be placed in that container.

Wew lawd. I know sometimes people have problems with NMM where mods just never show up, even when clicked. You might take the time to switch to Mod Organizer. You can import your mods through it.

It absolutely isn't.

It kinda is, but the pay off is too much. I have never had to do a complete reinstall with MO but once. When I did manual + Wyre Bash, I'd mess something up every few months and would have to do a reinstall. I like to experiment with mods way too much. Now I can keep a separate profile for that.

virtual filing system. One folder holds every mod, when you hit run in MO it behaves as if every individuallg selected folder was installed. Very safe, very easy. Also auto-extracts .bsa files.

Best advice I can give is use a reference, and learn facial proportions. This helps you avoid making aliens and even shitty features look okay with proper proportions. Whenever I make a face, I always ask other people to look at it too, because a second pair of eyes almost always catches something you miss. Other than that, practice a lot.

Textures don't always look good because the meshes suck. You can try SMIM to get better meshes, which in turn makes the textures look better.

It's the pose, it totally sticks her hip out way further than it logically should be able to go.
