I know nothing about cars but one day I want to have a classic muscle car that's supercharged with a blower (that's not insanely big, something a little humble (even though its a fucking supercharger)). I don't care how much of a faggot I am for wanting one. I love the sound, and I love the look, and I like the idea of the boost being consistent instead of having gay ass turbo lag, not to dis turbos though.
So teach about superchargers. What kind of car or engine makes sense or is acceptable to supercharge? Where should I look for buying an old muscle car? Should I restore one or just get something like a retired V8 Crown Victoria police interceptor and change the body, if that's even possible.
If it was up to me, I would have something like pic related. Love the look of the intake of that blower and that kind of old muscle car. The car itself isn't over the top but still looks good in my opinion, kinda humble. Don't really care where the car is from.
inb4 >muscle cars >humble OP iz teh bigest fag0t ive evr seen
just because I'm interested in a car with a blower doesn't mean I'm fucking 12

>What kind of car or engine makes sense or is acceptable to supercharge? all engines can make use of superchargers. Both General Motors and Mercedes have produced production supercharged 4 cylinder engines. Hell, GM's supercharged 2.0L 4 bangers are heavily respected and beloved. pic related. Superchargers don't often stick up through the hood of a car.
>Where should I look for buying an old muscle car? That depends.which muscle car do you want? 1980's GM G-bodies like the Chevy Monte Carlo and El Camino can be found dirt cheap, though they need an engine swap fo a supercharger to be of any use in the first place (the 305 V8 is trash) first gen Camaro/Mustang/Firebirds? Good luck. The best bet here is getting everything reproduction (Dynacorn makes reproduction bodys) and getting it titled as a kit car. It's expensive but you get what you want. The best inbetween one would be a coupe from the 1970's. They're not as rare or desirable as the 1960's cars, but not as trash as the 80's cars.

I want a supercharged, manual-swapped Grand Marquis. Bone-stock appearance wise, with a vinyl top. Ultimate grandpa-mode sleeper.

Then do it, fag.
Jackson Cox
and you can make superchargers stick up through the hood, even with FWD

>Superchargers don't often stick up through the hood of a car. yeah I'm aware that there's like 3 different types of superchargesr but as much as I'm a stat and numbers junkie I want this thing to get 'mired like when chad is at the gym
as far as the body goes I actually have no idea what the fuck I want, or where to start looking.

OP here, that makes me want to throw up

It's not necessarily the style of supercharger that determines if it sticks up through the hood or not, but rather the intake manifold.
Pic related is the mentioned G-body 1980's Monte Carlo

Someday. I already have a GMQ and a bolt-on supercharger kit. I will do the supercharger install the next time I need to drop my engine. The manual swap will take more time, but I have the parts and I think I'll do that when I hit 200k on the odo, should be march,

OP here, just found this 4 hours away, should I consider or is it aids

That's a V6 model. They're decent, but there's no supercharging support for the 2.8L I'd grab it, but I've been looking for a V6 F-body
Adam Wood
there's also a 454 big block engine for sale, just 3.5k
John Nelson
It won't fit in the Camaro without massive changes. The chassis just was not meant for an engine that big. You'd be better off finding a G-body with a 350, swapping the 305 for a 350, and supercharging that
Christopher Lee
alright, just curious about the engine, if its actually good or not. I think the listing has been up for a while

Big block engines are heavy. You generally only want them is your car only ever drives down a 1/4 mile. The weight ruins the handling of anything short of a pick up truck. Given your needs, a good small block would be fine. There isn't mucha big block can do that a small block can't
Ian Clark
Don't let your dreams be memes You can supercharge anything if you're determined
