People are under the impression that since it's tied to anything physically, that it's not going to be worth anything.
They had a point back in the day when you really couldn't do anything with it other than buy and sell bitcoin.
So long as people are using it as a form of payment, it has the same inherent value as that piece of paper in your wallet.
