Hey guys my Halo 3 disc will no longer load levels because it's scratched, I put toothpaste on it and rubbed it in, but that still didn't work. Am I suppose to let the toothpaste stay on the disc for two to three hours or does that trick not work?

My plan is to get a job and then take my Halo 3 disc to Gamestop and trade it for another Halo 3 disc that works, but I plan to keep my case so I can put the new Halo 3 disc in that case.

It's one of those homeopathic things that may be bullshit

I vouch for the legitimacy of the toothpaste method, saved a ton of unreadable secondhand games for me. Rub it from the center outward until the disc is completely coated, then rinse it off with warm water until you can no longer see any toothpaste. Dry as necessary with a microfiber cloth. Dunno if it works with Blurays, but I've tried it with everything from rewritable DVDs to 360 games and it's worked nearly every time. Will not save ring scratches or chinks, obviously.

A similar trick used to work if you put a scratched disc in a cd case and put it in the freezer for a few hours.

Thank god, it's awful. Reach's was slightly better but Halo 5 has the best firefight to date.
