Does anyone know if I need a permit to get my class C if I've already have a Class M license for 4 years?

I literally cannot find the answer since Class M only licenses are apparently extremely rare so I have no fucking idea where I legally stand. I just want to get a class C tacked on to my existing license.

A kid pulled out in front of me and turned me into a hood ornament, destroying the forks on my 2000 Shadow VLX. His insurance just made me an offer: $2500 to walk away, or $1700 to keep the bike. I thiiiink the only damage is the forks, in theory I can swap on the forks or the whole triple tree from a bunch of other Hondas and a few other metric bikes. I'm torn as to what to do. This is the end of my second year riding and I love my Shadow, I've been able to pick it up from stupid shit and walk away. If the frame is fine, it maybe won't be hard to fix. I've got a truck and a car that need fixing up, and I could maybe quickly whip one of them into shape and ride them until winter when bikes are cheap again. I could even use the money to put a down payment on another bike, pick up a Shadow 750 or go test drive some Bonnevilles to see which one to hunt down. I want a survival bike at some point too. I just have a lot of emotional attachment to my bike and hate to see her thrown away.

Lawyer the fuck up and let them handle it. There are long term effects on your body from even small crashes. Plus a lawyer could easily get you another 0 put on that amount.

not if you maintain it properly, it is still a dirt bike after all and people treat maintenance as if it's an understressed 90s street bike

it's a fine bike to start on. you will get a lot of fun out of it. it isn't an enduro or mx bike but it is definitely plenty capable off road pretty much in any conditions. if it is priced fairly and you're prepared to do some work on it if you are unsure on its history then i say get it

I ride a DR350 and its pretty much the perfect starter bike. No bullshit to deal with, simple to work on, reliable, good power

DRZ for 2.3k isn't too bad, depends on the miles though.
If you're mainly riding street, XT250 would be the minimum you'd want. XT225's are featherweight dual sports best for trail riding.
Buying bikes off craigslist can be a long waiting game. It was about 3 months of searching for me to find the bike I ended up buying. Good luck

Halfway through the learners course in Victoria. We have really good instructors, so I'm learning heaps and can feel my self riding better.
But the way they showed us to slow ride was by riding the clutch and using the rear break to adjust speed. It worked really well, but is it the best way? I know the clutch can take a lot of punishment, but it still feels wrong.

See the red cover? That hides a second chain, which is mounted to a driveshaft that runs through the frame, towards the steering unit. In there is a bevel drive (like Ducati used to have for their cams), which sends power down through the two black tubes running parallel to each of the forks. They then send power directly to the front wheel through a hub, like you usually have with shaft-driven bikes, except now there's two (pretty small) input shafts.

Think I'll go wash my bike. It rained for 30 seconds yesterday which was just enough to let individual drops hit the surfaces and dry there and leave a nice pattern of shit. I tried removing some engine grease on the outside with WD40, that part looks "better" now.

Depends on the temperature and how long you're riding for. 2+ hours soaked through with no feeling in you hands is shitty, no matter how hard to want to act.

Not necessarily. Most highway patrol are alpha cars (one driver). Contacting you means turning up at your residence, which means two cops in attendance. They have to factor rostering in, so might be a week or so before they rock up to question you and/or charge you.

They'll turn up same day if you run from them because that's protocol for a police pursuit, but if it's just about the speed could be longer.

No idea about your laws but here the time limit is 2 years. Friend's company got a citation for speeding from a neighboring country one year after the fact.

Depends on where you live and what the local laws are. Here, for instance, operator onus: whoever is the registered owner is deemed to be responsible for the vehicle and therefor deemed to be the driver/rider, unless they make a statutory declaration that another person was the responsible party.

So, you don't have a duty to nominate who did it, but you are getting the ticket yourself unless you do.
