Yeah, Redman is in a weird place now. It almost feels like Nasu is backtracking on the whole "don't pursue your ideals to the extreme" thing by having Bobmiya, who's basically "don't pursue your ideals to the maximum extreme".

Emiya is basically just a Shirou in transition now. The whole aspect of him of the bitter future hasn't been relevant in over a decade anyway so its not like its a big change, there's just now a concrete image of what the ACTUAL end of being a hero is.

BB does throw him under the bus saying he killed many humans when he first appeared, so getting played with and broken by Kiara is just his karma.

Archer wasn't wrong, he realized his path wasn't wrong. At the end he realizes it wasn't a mistake and the ideal was still beautiful. He was a Shirou who just lost his way a bit due to all the suffering he's seen. He saw his previous self and realized that there was something genuine he once pursued even if his ideal was fake.

Bobmiya is a different niche, Bobmiya is broken. He's a Shirou who entirely broke. Regular Archer isn't broken, he just can't see forward at the moment.
