should I get the sedan or hatch? aiming for the 1.5 in case I decide for the hatch. to be fair I'm kinda leaning for the sedan since I don't need much hauling space and prefer the styling but idk

also should mention I'm yuropoor and the sedan only comes in 1.5, no way I'm getting the 3 cyl either way

neither. fix your current car or get something else.

there's nothing in it's price range anywhere close to it's quality and bang for buck

fixing isn't worth it

what car? what's wrong with it?

I think the coupe looks way better than the other two body styles. But I think the hatchback runs the cheapest with the strongest engine available

Hatch but the mazda3 is better

In North America doesn't the hatch have import duties due to being manufactured in the UK? So you lose some value on that alone.

doesn't matter desu. and not much I just want something that will do better at highway speeds
need the four doors
nah the engine offers are too outdated
idk I'm from the third world. and either way I'll hold on to it for at least 10 years so depreciation shouldn't mater

also btw forgot to say I'm getting the manual. no way I'm falling for the CVT meme haha

you shouldn't buy a new econobox. you could get something interesting used for the same price. it's boring as fuck and buying new is a waste of money.

nah buying used is a shot in the dark. my mate just spent 6 weeks repairing the air conditioning on his used 320d during hottest months because every mechanic worth a damn was on holiday and he had to track down parts at scrapyards since new ones were worth half the car

and the worst part is the car isn't even that nice. interior is straight opel quality. same for c-class/e-class/s-class that aren't the newest variant.

plus this car is like 8k USD cheaper in my shithole than other countries. no way I'm skipping on a bargain like that for a crappy used bmw

>hurr durr i'm too much of a dumbass to pick a good used car. i'll spend double just because i'm an idiot and can't be bothered to spend a few hundred bucks in repairs every now and then or wrench on it myself

>Everyone should buy used and work on their car

Dude, how much of a bitter poorfag/neet are you?

>buy used car that is inferior in every because it's cheaper
>end up spending the same amount of money on it because repairs unless you're a jerryrigging neet demigod

jaja logic. again, not buying a used crappy bmw. not sure why you americans always try to apply your logic here. I can't just go out and buy a fucking mustang for 5k

even if you have pay a mechanic to do basic work on a car, you can save obscene amounts of money on practically new cars by buying used

the only car I'd consider buying used right now is a lexus 200t but those barely depreciate (for obvious reasons), so I can't really afford it. and if I could I sure as shit wouldn't buy used just to save 3k

It doesn't matter. You can also walk and take the bus everywhere and save even more. It's called options. All transportation is a privilege.

>buy car for 3k
>needs 3k in repairs over a few years worst case scenario
>spent 6k total
or
>put 6k down and finance a new shtibox for a few years
>have to pay more in taxes and insurance

the choice should be obvious.

Cons: used old car
Pros: new car, can sell it later

>finance
>third world

lol'd

anyway I already have a 3k shitbox. not getting another. I want something more modern

>buy used car for 3k
>put 3k into it
>sell it for 2500-3k when you're done with it because it's done depreciating

I don;t want to change cars every year. 10+ years holding on to the honda

I also don't want to waste time and money repairing

>After it depreciates to the value of the used car

I'm not the guy you're arguing with, but you guys are missing the point.

OP, instead of buying a 2017 civic, buy a 2015 or 2014. You save considerable money on a 2 or 3 year old car. The fully loaded 2 or 3 year old will be about the same as the base new.

Again, it's an old penalty box. Devoid of any modern luxury or even pleasure . At that point, save the 3k and buy a bus pass for 30 bucks

why? there are barely any used ones in my country and the ones that are, are beat to shit. and the used ones outside my country are barely 2-3k off the sticker price of a 1.5 sedan which is better in every conceivable way except muh meme seats

Fuck, didn't see you lived in a third world shithole.

Sorry mate. In Freedomistan, if you have to ask Veeky Forums for financial advice on buying a new car, you should probably buy a car 2 or 3 years older.

what country? post your local classifieds

I just wanted to know which one is overall a better deal ;_;. I remember a canuck with the sedan here maybe someone has the hatch
...classifieds? lol. mate. lol. this already derailed to shit not turning it into /int/

anyway I was thinking of a 328i for a while but something must be seriously wrong with them to lose over half their value in less than 2 years. and it's not really an upgrade over the honda except muh rwd

just post the website where you look for cars.

I'm partial to sedans, but you'll get more utility out of the hatchback (read: bitches)

Honestly though, the civic does not appeal to me in the least. I like bigger cars.

mobile.de/
I'd be all up for a nice lexus barge but I can't affod it lul

The hatch comes with the 1.5L Turbo standard, and the damn thing is bigger on the inside

Would recommend

Not everyone is poor like you

>wants to buy a new econobox with the intention of keeping it for a long time
There's nothing wrong with this

other way around here. hatch offers a 1.0 as starter point. but there isn't much price disparity between a 1.5 hatch and the sedan
desu I've done this with my first car. 7+ years going but the little shit is beat and 320k on the odo. had a special offer on full coverage too which gave me the car twice over haha

Get the hatch anyway, it's way more practical but there's hardly any difference outside
The trunk opening for the sedan is pitiful

there's a v6 g37 in amsterdam.

volvo c30, v70
vw golf/passat
any saab
etc... there are much better options out there.

the lower parts of the backside are also pretty hot tbqh
anything over 2.0 liters is too much in tax/insurance

I don't trust VAG and I have a particular dislike for the golf. and I don't like either volvos or any saab, which would barely be an upgrade over my current car unless of course I bought a recent volvo model which isn't worth the money

The hatch looks like a retarded transformer.

hahahahahahahahhahahahahahaha

stop letting your government cuck you.

it grew on me over time. especially after spotting one IRL. had the same issue with the lexus hourglass. after getting a glance at one it seemed less... horrid
doesn't work that way

but mate I am a VERY meticulous shopper. I've been doing my homework for the past 6 months and there is literally no better purchase out there given my situation. I just can't decide on which body to get. keep trying though

GET THE HATCH

Where did the used car touch you?

Wheres the difference?
Back in the day the thing on the left would be called a notchback, no?

fine
none of this actually applies to me since it's US based info

And yet you get a much nicer car with the 2015 Pilot

idk but it opens like a normal sedan

also mate a few months ago when I first inquired out of a random interest about the car I specifically remember someone with your grammar jumping in insisting to get a used volvo instead

why do you hate honda so much? and why would you ever recommend a fucking volkswagen over it

i just hate modern hondas and newer cars in general because of the shitty pedestrian-safe design. these new civics are hideous and have terrible fake vents on the back because "racecar" when it's only driven by numale cucks.

pretty irrational mate. not sure what I should have expected from Veeky Forums though

So tell us where you are.
Indeed, but he's looking at fucking civics. Rules still apply except in his exceptional nameless country.

how is it irrational? just look at it. it's fucking hideous. look at those "vents" and tiny windows. it's riced as fuck.

nah like I already said don't want to turn this into /int/. buying used is not a right choice here. not at all. this car is 22k BRAND NEW FULL OPTION. that's before cash for clunkers and further dealer negotiations. in germany a similar spec can reach 29k. you would have to be braindead to pick anything else. especially since it's not only the best econobox currently on the market, by far, it reachers further than it's price point and it's a fucking honda. eg bulletproof. aside from that CVT haha
the volvo you recommended is just as horridt. it's irrational because it's one of the better received cars in years. literally superior in engine. suspension and all that to cars almost twice in price. but you hate it because muh cuck

the c30 looks fucking cool and v70 looks decent even though it has a somewhat cucked front end.

it's well received because the car media is an echo chamber full of people that don't really care about car design and care more about how many dumbass pedestrians get hurt or die every year.

again with the irrationalities. the honda is better. faster. drives better. is lighter. is comfier. than your shitty volvo

mazda 3 is better than this shitty civic.

It sounds like you had your mind made up before asking a question. Buy the hatch then. If your country is so different and shitty, it'll probably get stolen anyways.

nah
but I did. I didn't at any point ask for any other car recommendation. I don't want a fucking used car. used cars simply do not work outside america. this shithead recommend a fucking g37. a fucking. rebadged. nissan 370z.

>usa talking about car jacking

lol

The new Civics are much nicer than the old ones

they're nicer than many upmarket cars too. and faster and lighter and cleverer

>judges an entire car by what he sees when it drives by his bus

Finally a reason to post this edition.cnn.com/videos/us/2017/05/25/woman-hood-car-theft-wisconsin-newday.cnn

looks > everything else

looks pretty nice desu. especially the sedan profile is snappy

Are you a woman? Do you need you car to match your purse?

the sedan prolfile is shit. a sedan should be three box design. if a sedan has a fastback it should be a liftback. the hatch should be a standard two-box design with an almost vertical hatch instead of the non-committal one it has.

nah

"nah" is not an argument. the mazda 3 is better period. "nah" is not a response.

hope you get raped by refugees.

Were you molested by a Civic?

no refugees here. mazda3 is smaller.

nah is an argument. because you have so far been wrong about everything. the only sedans better looking currently in production are the mazda6 and bmw 6 series. one of which is way out of my price range, and one, inferior in every way to the honda

the civic in base trim is the best car availabpe in america imho. its better than the camry in case anyone was looking at camrys. too bad the 2.0 isnt available in europe because 40mpgs on regular gas on the interstate

2.0 is a turd, most people get the 1.5L turbo

its enough power with a stick. it seems to have the same power at altitude and sea level which surprised me

Can you get a hatch and put sedan fascias on it. those stupid fake vents are awful
