well im putting the patcher with the eden files and its not working.
I tried first loading both FDI files , which starts the game but the patcher still doesn't pick up the game or do anything . how the fuck do you patch 98 games.

That's apparently what you're using. Try reinstalling Python. I've only ever used it in OS X, can't even remember how I installed it but it was probably via the terminal.If reinstalling Python doesn't work for you, it may be the specific library (TkInter) that you have to reinstall.

Also, check out the Windows event viewer, specifically the Application events and check if any errors are recent or match with what you're doing in date or names.

It's just a programming language and a bunch of libraries. And it's normal, you're just used to having your installer do that for you. The .NET framework in Windows powers a ton of shit you use, it just happens to be included in your system so you don't notice. Or when you run a new game and it starts installing some specific C++ assembly, same shit.

All right, cool Yes, it just can't find it. Python itself is probably fine. So, it's really only that file that's missing.

You can try 3 things.

a) Get a copy of the init.tcl file and drop it in any of those locations that Python is looking for. This is probably the easiest thing to do, just google the file and you'll probably end up in github or something.
b) Reinstall / Install the TkInter library. I'm not entirely sure that the library is missing, so try this after getting the file.
c) Reinstall Python. I doubt this will do much, but sometimes an installation is missing shit and simply reinstalling it includes it for you.

IF you do option "a", it may throw a different error. This would mean that it got the config file, but the TkInter library is fucked. At that point you go to step "b" to reinstall it. If it still fails, then you try "c".

Well I don't think I had Python to begin with, but is the TkInter library different from it, something else I need to install? sorry I build pc's but code is not my shit.

Well I installed Python and it didnt work. tried looking for init.tcl and didnt find a download of it.

So, something I've always wondered about Utawarerumono. Why does Kamyu drink blood? I think there's that whole thing with Mutsumi but that doesn't explain anything.

Forgot to add. Option "b" is for you to try if you can't find the init.tcl file. Sometimes those files are generated for you on installation. You may skip directly to that one if you want as well, your call.

error in google, a bunch of people have it as well.

I don't use Python myself, so I can't tell you with full accuracy, I'm just a code monkey of other languages. TkInter is a library (think of it like an add on, it's a bunch of code that you can attach to something else) used by Python to work with graphical user interfaces. In short, you may have Python installed, but not TkInter. Or you may have both, but something fucked up the location of that configuration file.

I don't really know how Python references shit so I'm not sure how it's working for you at the moment. The reason I'm saying that it's installed (or at least it's capable of running standalone) is because you wouldn't even get the error message in the first place if Python couldn't parse the file.
