Ever since the whole "X" shenanigans from DDD, I'm beginning to wonder if any other character has had an "X" shaped symbol on them. The only one I can think of is Pete. Odd as it may be, I wouldn't put it past Nomura to make that a twist and have Pete an unbeknownst accomplice to keep an eye on Maleficent this whole time. At least it wouldn't be just humanoids this whole time.

Also, from earlier comments, if we were to have a Star Wars element in the next game, it would have to be an optional boss fight with Vader. From the world map, it would be an unknown shining glimmer that when activated takes us to a cutscene where Sora and the gang lands the gummi ship onto the Death Star. They then walk out onto the platform where they encounter Vader, who proceeds to lift Sora into the air via the invisible choke hold to leave Donald and Goofy to look on in horror, only to then be blocked off by Storm Troopers who point their blasters at them. Sora throws the keyblade at Vader, at which point releases Sora onto the ground and then shows both of them getting ready for a one-on-one fight. After the fight, it shows a cutscene of Sora hitting Vader with the keyblade and pushing him away. SDG take that opportunity to run back to the gummi ship and head out back into space, followed up with a shot of Vader watching the ship fly off and into space. The next scene would be Sora saying wyd was that and how powerful his opponent was. With the end of the cutscene, the player gets a new keyblade with lightsaber aesthetics with same sound effects.

If this was done it would mean having to not spend time building a new world or have to voice act, but still providing a cameo from a franchise they wouldn't risk ruining. All in all, a fun optional boss to fight.

I wonder if Sora would still remember Marluxia because COM.

We know the xemnas fight in kh1 is canon because Xemnas references his fight and the fight is part of the restored memories

If I recall, Xehanort does not have a thirteenth member right? So that means we have what, six hooded members we don't know about? Even if these four were the other members, who would the others be? Terranort? Vanitas? Anyone else?

I think the more pressing mystery is who he'll have as the 13th now that he failed to possess Sora.

Uh... aqua's empty armor? Maybe? I dunno if that would work but it'd probably be the only way we'd have a boss against her armor that'd show us how powerful she's become, and how she fully deserves the master title. Or another super boss.

would it be possible for a majority of the cutscenes in kh3 to be of that quality rather than the quality of the back cover movie?

But Xion barely exists and is a weird type of replica/nobody made from Sora's memories in a way we don't understand. If Xion were to get norted it'll feel like Days happening all over again.

All they needed to do to fix her chin was to edit her model (which seems to be one of several since it was only that particular scene) and then re-render the opening. Ventus-Vanitas required similarly little work.

Actually animating the opening the first time around involves tons of planning, modeling, texturing, editing, etc.

To do that for every cutscene in KHIII would take monstrous effort, as every single asset in the game would have to have a pre-rendered counterpart of the cutscenes.

KHII has like 8 hours of cutscenes. Forget for a moment that PS2 discs only held like 8GB of data. Imagine how much work would be required to pre-render 8 hours of cutscenes. All the different rooms, characters, effects.

Another disadvantage of pre-rendered cutscenes is that information can't be manipulated. KH establishes a link between gameplay and story by minimizing the visual difference, but also by allowing your currently-equipped Keyblade to appear in cutscenes. That can't happen with pre-rendered video.

Back Cover is rendered in real-time, using "in-game" graphics.
For Back Cover in particular there's no real upside, since it isn't a game.
But this does mean that they already have the models for these characters and for Daybreak Town should they find use for them in KHIII or some other game.

Well yeah I know that, but I wasn't sure if she started off as a blank clone made from whatever they make replica's from or if she was purely made from Sora's memories.

Actually I think she said she let Roxas win, since it was better that way. The secret reports kind of make it seem pretty likely too, since she wasn't supposed to leave and Xion talks about how she wants to go back to where she belongs and asks Namine how to do it.

I'm pretty sure she died on purpose regardless of what Xemnas did, that's what all of the "Banter" during her boss fight was about. Because otherwise she'd be in control of her voice the entire boss fight, despite saying crazy things earlier... it'd be really inconsistent and it just makes more sense for her to try to get Roxas to kill her to save himself, knowing he'd never kill her unless she forced him to.
