Are you only able to get the full inheritance as France? Or does AI France turn down the free provinces if you get insanely lucky?

Also should I create princes from the burgundian provinces to max IA gain until the reformation hits or is it not even worth it if I got them only in 1472, I guess it would make a difference of maybe one more reform

I dont get it. Isnt the whole point to the right that you can choose to rule yourself or not? They choose not.

objective truth is that we should force everyone to rule over themselves and not be bossed around by hierarchy

>having the interests of the majority ignored by fenians is self government but being in a quasi federal union with Britain where they can do what they want isn't self government

The fact is they have a hell of a lot more autonomy presently than they would as either completely part of Ireland or completely part of Britain.

>objective truth is that we should force everyone to rule over themselves and not be bossed around by hierarchy
>lolbertarians/gommunists :DDD actually believe this

So no government at all. That is essentially that statement. Anarchy is shit and you know it. Im sure youre going to say thats not what you meant but if no one should be in a hierarchy it would be anarchy. Humans need a collective, and collectives need a leader. Thats what a government is.

okay, but i also want to exist and not have to work

I finally finished my playthrough of M&T from pre-2.0. Initially I was just going to give it up when 2.0 came out, but I realized that some meme shit was happening and decided to go through with it to the end.

The Dutch have a ridiculous ability to develop their provinces, and when stacked with policies you can get your nation to ludicrous heights. My development efficiency is at the bottom, which also features West-Vloendern, one of the two provinces tied for highest-developed in the world (the other being my capital Antwaerp).

The Dutch homeland has the 22 most developed provinces in the world, with 23rd being Konstantinyye at sub-200 development. Predictably, Dutch provinces take over again after that.

Hey, I've seen people tout HIP as the better major mod for CKII, what are people's suggestions for modules to install? I've never touched the mod, and it's been years since I touched CKII, actually. (Several saves came to hard crash ends post Rajas and Sons of Abraham.)

Although I didn't really want to, in order to properly steer trade I needed to take parts of Iberia. I also wanted to push Castile away from the coast so I could dominate the colonial game strongly enough to trade in every trade good on the map, which I accomplished by releasing and feeding Leon and Andalucia. Although I only integrated them in the mid-17th century and didn't intentionally move to develop them until the early 1700s (in the case of Portugal I didn't actually conquer their last interior territories until the mid-1700s), the political borders clearly show my influence in terms of what is and isn't developed. Again this is from only about 150 years of intentional development assistance here, with some provinces having been intentionally developed for as little as 10 years.

>that swarm of germanic ubermensch colonising iberia
feels good tbvqh

I colonized Greenland on March 1, 1659, in order to help steer trade in the North Sea. After that, with the exception of constructing a highway network and port, I completely forgot about it. When I next looked at it in February of 1776 to build a rail network there, I realized that it had, independently, grown to 60 development without any modifiers at all, just because it was in Europe.

From that point I built further development buildings there (never even bothering to make it a state) just to see how high it could go. By late-game, this arctic tundra had almost 80 development. For comparison, that is:

30 development less than Paris
6 development less than Warsaw
2 times the size of Cairo
Larger than Kyoto and only 2 development smaller than Edo
Larger than the development of the English capital at Devon, which has been there since 1444

Development is a simplistic meme concept

Disgusting, tell us more.
Also culture map?

Here you can see the world political map (no, I didn't initially dominate the colonial game so much as this would suggest--it just proved very easy to go in and force the empires that had beaten me in places to give up what they controlled) compared to the world development map. While India, ruled under the benevolent Oost-Indische Compagnie, is the next most-developed center of territory in the world, nothing comes close to comparing to the urban sprawl of the Dutch trade outposts in Iberia and England, much less the ultra-urbanized Netherlands proper.

I'm playing HPM as Ndebele and my game crashes when I get the Transvaal/Matabele event.
Using the following minimods: Big Square Frames, East India Company, Swiss Culture and Improved Names.
Version: 3.04 (XMTA)

How do I diagnose Victoria 2 crashes?

>East India Company
>Swiss Culture
Don't think they're updated for this HPM version yet. Doubt they're the reason the game is crashing though, did the name mod change the Matalebe/Transvaal tag?

>analyze my current save's economy
>ireland has 97% of the world's GDP
I think there's a bug

Speaking of Dutch India, let's take a look there. Although only recently receiving the entirety of its current territory--which Antwaerp views to be its final established borders--from the Dehli Sultanate in a war which was fought in 1845, India has benefited monumentally from company rule, which formally began with the cession of Bengal to direct Company rule in September 25, 1656. Since then Dutch India has risen to become one of the mightiest players on the world stage in its own right, although government ownership of the Oost-Indische Compagnie ensures its loyalty.

Although the primary purpose of the Oost-Indische Compagnie has been to profit off of trade being directed by the Dutch government from the east down to the trading posts at the Cape, in practical terms Dutch India has most usefully been a stalwart ally of the regiments raised from the Netherlands proper, which have been engaged in nigh-constant warfare with the various Sultanates and Rajahs of India since the mid-17th century. Of these nations, only two are left: Delhi, which has been forced out into Persia, and Jaunpur, which rules the small Polynesian-dominated island of Sangihe off the coast of the Philippines. The Dutch Moluccas Company effectively exerts a monopoly on the production and trade of goods in the latter country, a fact which is of no small amusement to company officials.

In recent years, as the Indian states have all fallen one-by-one, company control in India has increased rapidly. With the fall of their various princes and subsequent rule by the benevolent Dutch administrators, many Indian peoples have lost confidence in their various faiths. Today, Protestantism is rapidly expanding throughout the subcontinent, and Company experts expect that it will be the majority religion of India by 1950.

Probably. Do you think that may the problem?

>benevolent

Yes

Nice. I never had the autism to sit through a pre-2.0 game and try to conquer all of India.

What's culture's like?

Although, of course, to a certain extent this must be attributed to Dutch migrants as well. Although their numbers have been small thus far--largely due to the entirely-correct assumption that India was a dangerous territory to live within prior to the final settlement with the Delhi Sultanate in 1845--migration has picked up of late. With state-funded railways, hospitals, and plantations, wealth is easy for Dutch men to acquire in India, and now that the other colonies have been largely settled, state-sponsored migration to the much less developed Indian territories is changing the demographic makeup of the Indian state.

As if they would admit they were only there to extract wealth from the natives.

How does MEIOU deal with such memes as
1. The Glorious revolution, where William III came to power in Britain.
2. The Boers. (I know this doesn't make sense, but I heard it had events to do with them?)
3. The Monarchy-republic dynamic of the Netherlands.

Although the nature of colonial cultures has been tumultuous in the past several centuries, first with small Dutch outposts gradually shifting behavior styles and eventually with the growth of "Amerikaner" culture in the American colonies, throughout the entire period Antwaerp has maintained a generally conciliatory attitude toward these foreign cultures. The United Provinces recognize no official language throughout the entirety of their state (although naturally Dutch has pride of place), and even so far back as the late 14th century, when the English state was removed from Calais, the English citizens there were not. Indeed, to the present day Calais remains an English-speaking enclave within the Dutch state itself, one larger than all other English-speaking centers in England itself!

Although proper High Dutch culture has expanded slightly within the United Provinces itself, almost entirely eradicating the Brabantic dialect, that Brabantic-accented Dutch is spoken in Antwaerp has stopped High Dutch from being the formally-accepted variant of the language throughout the country as a whole.

I only have experience in what I saw, but there was no event for the Glorious Revolution. It might only be possible if the English Civil War fires, which it didn't in my game. England switched monarchs about 18 (no exaggeration) times from pretender rebels, though.

There are no Boer events I saw. Might only happen if the Cape is made independent (or may not happen at all), but I got none.

Monarch/Republic dynamic is represented the same way as the Dutch Republic handles it in vanilla, by having the Orangist/Statist duality with different mechanics for each. Orangists of sufficient skill can also launch a coup to become monarchs.

>welsh is in the anglo group
>turko-greek
>three different germaniums
wtf i hate meiou now

>not playing on 2.0

If the kikes at Paradox made it possible for provinces to have multiple different cultures, and have the culture map reflect that, then MEIOU would be infinitely better.

>turko-greek
Jesus
What's the reasoning behind this

I thought colonization was broken in this version?

>playing bloatmod

I don't know why they do their culture groups that way, I think it's to encourage expansion in the direction nations historically went, or to represent later cultural affinities. Either way it's shit and I despise it.

>not having reading comprehension
I finished this game because of the development meme before moving to 2.0. Besides that I don't want to play 2.0 for another month or two yet, as I suspect it'll be buggy until then.

I don't even know what version I'm using, but broken how? Clearly it worked alright for me.

what a twist!

>to encourage expansion in the direction nations historically went, or to represent later cultural affinities

thats exactly it, plus balance

why do you despise it

Wow this looks comfy af
