Pretty much, but parts of Fates definitely do not have great gameplay (Revelations and Birthright, 2/3 of the package), and parts of Echoes (namely the departures from the regular formula) are kind of interesting and a refreshing change.

So basically it's like 1/3 of Fates is decent in the gameplay department, but 3/3 is shit in everything else.

If there's anything Echoes does well, it's make me excited for the Switch game. Echoes being a remake of Gaiden is what holds the gameplay back, but if they combine the best aspects of Echoes and Conquest, the next FE game has a very high chance of being the best game in the series by a wide margin.

All they would have to do is get that character designer and artist from Echoes for the Switch game, instead of getting those guys from Awakening and Fates, and I'd immediately be on fucking board. Awakening and Fates, visually, are like the odd ones out in the series (and I can't really put my finger on why), they never felt like Fire Emblem to me. Echoes really sparked it for me again.

Thanks frens. I use d pad only but there are times where my circle pad will slightly move enough that it causes me to scroll down an extra option. It's mildly infuriating and it bit me hard
