All these threads were made irrelevant by the huge sideline up-pulling that took place in the early 00s.

W123 / 124 / 126 / 201 era Mercedes Benzes at least in my humble opinion. I really think the coupe version of W124 is both timeless design and surprisingly good looking despite it's relatively conservative design.

Also I'd like to give honorable mention to second gen Mr2.
