Let me get this crystal clear for someone breaking one of the rules of Veeky Forums:
The eclipse 2nd gen (no idea the first one) use the same base chassis across the FWD and AWD variants, they also use THE SAME ENGINE in THE SAME LAYOUT. Which means that up until the engine is placed in the chassis the car can be both an AWD or FWD car.
Its not until the transmission and other parts that work to become AWD go in that it becomes AWD.
If the car already has a tunnerl for a shaft, and has a rear suspension that allows for the easy input of a rear differential and such, the car is VERY easy to conver from the FWD to the AWD model compared to a car SPECIFICALLY made to be FWD.
I dont know how to make it any easier to understand.
