Is my mechanic trying to get me? Pic related.

part 2

Btw it's a lexus gs300 2001. I think I can just replace the brakes, bushings, ball joints, struts, and timing belt and I'd be good. What do y'all think?

part 3

>hey guys can you tell me if these things are real on my car without knowing literally anything about it
also, are you one of those sandniggers who abuses his dirty shitbox to the point it becomes dangerous?

luxury vehicles luxury costs
ageing vehicles have higher maintenance costs

Gee
Whodathunkit

Well at least you got your tape deck fixed.

You are being completely fucked in the ass.
Never go to that mechanic ever again, those prices are insane.

How the fuck should we know?

> Transmission whining noice
> NOICE

Don't like gear whine? It's nice.

This nigga
isnt op

Yes but it's for a LEXAS

one thing i suggest is to get a straight pipe in place of your cat, way cheaper

>Flushing a transmission with 180K on it
>1.2K to replace struts
>Not buying a junkyard cat if you even want to keep the thing
>WANTS TO DROP THE FUCKING ENGINE TO CHANGE A GOD DAMNED OIL PAN GASKET

He's trying to fuck you without lube, OP.

Change the valve cover gaskets. spark plug tube seals, and wires.

Replace the tie rods, unless your car clunks like a motherfucker when turning or its rusted to shit, dont worry about the control arms.

Drain and fill the transmission fluid with some valvoline maxlife and change the filter yourself. It shouldnt whine after that, if it does, put some lucas stop slip in the motherfucker too and forget about it.

Tbh you'd be better taking a few days off of work and doing all this shit yourself. It'd be a hell of alot cheaper even if you arent getting paid for those days away from work.

>dashboard clock calibration
>$50
hwat

it passes emissions. the cats fine, I think it's just a sensor

>having emissions
what kind of cucked place do you live in

pretty sure you can replace the oilpan without pulling the engine. its a 2jz straight six and its double wishbone so there's no subframe in the way of the pan

also kill yourself

Colorado, but tbf Colorado is pretty lax. Only required in the Denver metro area

>Not changing timing belt on a 180k mile interference 2jzge

'03 lexus gs300 here

if you can't afford the bills you better be able to turn a wrench

A lot of forums say it's still a pain in the ass without removing the engine

You should listen op. Invest in some kind of service manual and do things slowly.
Nothing is too hard with cars, is just too tedious.

Alternatively listen what the mechanic said, get rid of that piece of junk and buy something else,
maybe even cheaper to fix (lexux is a premium brand = premium fees)

>82 DeLorean DMC-12

HURRR LEASING IS A WASTE OF MONEY GUIZ

>16 year old car

This is enough to rustle jimmies
