Finally done with SoV Chapter 5
I have trouble figuring out if I like or hate this game. You can tell the devs really liked the original game with all the details and love poured into it. But that faithfulness was absurdely disgusting when it comes to BS maps.

The game isn't even difficult in hard mode, but maps like Giethe, Nuibaba or Duma's were tedious for no good reason.
And speaking of which, it literally took me more than 1h for Duma's map because that giant lizard just refused to die.
Was there any trick aside of warp/rescue? I promoted Alm after lvl20, and he had an average of 20 for every stats but res. Yet, I can't just let him stay in front of Duma if I can't patch him up with double Psychics after he attacks. And Duma sure loved to prolong his agony with a random 40HP heal out of nowhere.

I admit I forgot forging the Falchion, but man, it was literally some benny hill shenanigan.

Can't say if I will be willing to do more playthrough.

Don't worry, he only did it once in my game. I squeezed him tightly between Genny and Celica on both sides behind the walls and he was cold meat. I cleared the map on first try. Though then again I'm on classic normal.
But yeah, I noticed right away. Pretty sure they didn't change anything, it's the exact same one.

I dont even know how he's doing it. His level ups tend to be shit and yet he's laying waste to everything he looks at. He tends to go full nothing personnel with critspam, but even without those he's hitting hard as fuck.

I realized I have more fun on easy modes. I did Conquest on hard mode and it was okay for a while but then I went crazy at some point around the later parts of the game. I kept struggling with some map, and I ended up being thoroughly disgusted with the game. Didn't touch it in a week, then picked it back up with lowered difficulty, but I just didn't care anymore. I never finished Conquest. Needless to say I didn't even start Birthright.
Usually I can pull through difficult maps, I don't mind starting over dozens of times to get it right (the map I reset the most is probably that one in Radiant Dawn where Elincia is defending her castle in hard mode) when the story is good enough but there I just couldn't be assed to care.

It's really easy to get Atk+3 compared to Deathblow 3, though Deathblow 2 has a slightly lower SP cost at 100 where as Atk+3 has 120 which might not really matter in arena.

If you feed him all of the speed boosts or luck sack of a bunch of speed procs then he'll be viable. Otherwise, you're better off using Tobin or Luthier instead.

He is. He's my mage with the highest defense, so unlike Luthier (high res low def) and Delthea (glass canon) I can just toss him on the frontline against knights and he'll do the job.
