Is there a mod for Attila that lets you keep recruiting lower tier units after you research upgrades?

Fucking hell, I almost want paid dlc now. I guess they could make a Empire dlc at the same price as Grim/Warlord or less.

Hopefully Old Friend actually is a "cool tiny, little thing we thought everyone would like to see"

How are they going to implement the Skaven without putting them at a terrible disadvantage?

Let's face it, CA is not going to implement the Underempire/Underway properly, that will remain a stance, so Skaven truly hiding underground is out. And since there's been talk of cutting factions/regions there's no way they'll put in lots of minor Skaven lairs, at most they'll get a few of the big ones, like Skavenblight, Crookback Mountain, Quetza and Hell Pit. But those are quite a distance from each other, meaning reinforcements for a Skaven stronghold under siege will take a while to arrive, unless the rats get a massive movement bonus while in Underempire/underway stance. And I doubt Skaven will have an easy time with diplomacy. A lot of factions will probably dislike them and try to destroy them as soon as possible.

Maybe I'm not seeing some obvious way out of this but it's seems inevitable to me that Skaven will be like the Beastmen and get exterminated almost as soon as they appear. Giving them a Waaagh/Brayherd mechanic or making their strongholds ludicrously well defended might mitigate this somewhat, though.

Pretty sure there are a few. I remember a lot of them being unfinished.

Make them start with settlements that are really far away from eachother and make them able to "teleport" units between those settlements.

What would be enough for us to strike out this grudge from the Dammaz Kron?

I'll happily give CA my dollarydoos for more Lord packs on par with K&W. Hell, use the additional DLC releases to concurrently add some more FLC to the DLC races that won't get more paid stuff.

As much as I like new starting positions, I do kind of miss the coolness of gathering legendary lords through milestones. Kind of had a 'getting the band back together' kind of feel.

They should make legendary lords earnable through quests if you miss the opportunity to confederate them. So, for example, if you're playing Carcassone and Bordeleaux gets wiped out by Mousillon before you could confederate them, you get a quest to build up Bordeleaux's port to max level to be able to recruit Alberic or something.

I never use lightning strike, feels like cheating. I also removed RoRs with a mod. Being able to get high tier units instantly as long as you were high enough level and had the cash didn't feel right.

Really? One of my biggest gripes about newer total wars is you are suppose to tech up to elite units, so you have to mass militia early game then you mass elite units end game. Medeival 2 had a cool system where elite units were recruitable but you had to wait for he pool to replenish.

I suppose it's the fact that you recruit them instantly and that once destroyed they can be recruited instantly (or near enough) again that bothers me.
