Replaying original Nier right now, and i feel like while party banter is a strong part of the game, only Kaine is as complex as characters of the central cast of Automata, as far as personality goes. Taro really stepped up his game in that aspect, though it takes achieving ending E to really understand the underlying motivations and complexity of Automata characters.

It's actually the first game I've actually been able to enjoy at 30 fps on PC. I wouldn't have played 90hs of it otherwise. I beat all the arena challenges and even with shit tons of enemies at some times (like Desert Housing or right before the C-D ending) it never lagged. Even the loadings were not too long (I'd jump through Flooded City and the Forest to farm Mushrooms and Pure Waters mid game).
I never died because the frame had stuck or anything, so I'd definitely give it a try.

Compared to ME:Andromeda which also run at 30 fps, it was a great experience.
