Pure memes, the only time it's faster is around super tight hairpins that have a smaller turning radius than the car. If they were actually racing and not just doing a run for a video then drifting back and forth on the straight actually fucks up driving lines and keeps people trying to mimic your drift if they don't want to break or crash into you.
