I backed it but that was because I was under the impression that the game was gonna be more different from Quake games than it seems to be now. I'm sure they're keeping features secret though. James knows you need to not let people speculate on features in this genre. They're very negative.

Sadly devs are very bad at communication. And they'd need some guidance. Rumor has it there's a big patch in the works. Could be good, I like the game overall. But it's squandered opportunity as is. I think among the games that are out right now its the biggest hope for the gameplay I enjoy.

Like it quite a bit. But netcode is pretty meh (not as bad as QC mind you). It's inferior to Reflex in how its less approachable. But the better players still play it. I think its at great risk from Reflex taking it out if they get their shit together.

UT99 is like quake if there was zero air control whatsoever and you had weights strapped to your feet
also you can't bind a key specifically for dodging and have to double tap

It's extremely similar to Q3A. That was 1999, I started playing it that year. And yeah I think it's entirely reasonable to find a game getting old after 7 years if you play them. 5 years even.

played original Quake sp, skipped Q2, Q3 arena and UT99 I liked UT more, later moved to battlefield games and played it before it went to shit, last few years Planetside 2 because I'm masochistic apparently

Except not. QL is in practice just a weapon re-balance ignoring certain technical aspects. Sure there's a lot of crappy quake clones, but we normally don't consider those. None of the games on that list fit that description.

user have you listened to these people? Saying rapha likes QC is very inaccurate. He has said that Duel is a boring mode but he can see other gamemodes working out. I haven't listened to carnage or toxic on the game yet but clampok and fatal1ty aren't the most honest people.
