I farmed up the armor and two Ceadeus weapons and I killed about 25 of those golden fucks till I had enough furs to forge and upgrade everything.

D-pad on the bottom screen. I have 2000+ hours across 4U, X, Gen and XX like this on a 3ds with a broken clit and 2ds.

Shoulder target button works fine and is easy to use as long as you aren't using a ranged weapon.

O3DS with the CPP, or N3DS with good grips and maybe a nub replacement. Apparently CFW can enable the use of external controllers, never used it personally.

Thing is 2DS has no CPP equivalent and also has raised-up buttons, so using either physical or virtual D-Pad is probably harder as well. But still, it's playable and a second stick or nub is just desirable if you want to use a bow.

If you're going to use so little ice, just get more raw instead. I can't even think of any monster where ice is really that beneficial that you should be giving up raw.

ZR is monster target, ZL is quick chat.

If you want the controller experience seriously, you want one of Hori's grips either for O3DS small or New 3DS XL. Note N3DS lacks battery power and thus misses the awesome shoulder claw.

The Vita way is to make monster target a start menu item. Start + triangle changes monster target. L once is lock on, twice for reset is the same.

I don't think Monster Hunter has ever had a standard release with its G-Rank counterpart on a different platform, so there's really no precedence for this sort of thing, eh? I can't imagine them not implementing something for a 3DS Switch save transfer, but if they don't, I don't think I can bring myself to do it all over again.
