If you desperately need the ward to not die the next turn, dealer
otherwise, always belph

depends upon your hp and hand
if you have 16+ hp and Airjammer or otherwise solid turn 5-6 in hand, play Dealer and evolve into it if you can
if not the answer is belphie because the draw is huge for shoring up your next few turns

If you have both in hand and no Laura, Dealer. You can play Belph next turn, but not Dealer as he'll halve your health again.

this is a common misconception, sometimes you will actually go straight for belphegor and just skip dealer entirely because you want the draw immediately

rune needs to spellboost it 10 times
shadow needs to spend 10 shadows
sword needs to have a commander and soldier on the board
blood needs to take 10 damage/be at 10 or something

He could have had howl, or eachtar, Orthus, DoD, Cerb etc, etc
I mean its a nep deck so a lot of those cards are unlikely but DoD was certainly a possibility.
