I've always wanted to oneday have the balls to remake shadow the hedgehog and prove that it's possible to make something remotely descent out of that hot garbage... although I'd include like, a gallery of images, one for each numbered "ending" that I have to legit give props to the developers and localization for making up 1000 names for paths. Gerald made the Biolizard in the image of the deity holding the master emerald, and the spiky god is self explanatory, although I have to wonder how Gerald created something that resembles Sonic so closely even though he wouldn't have been born for a few decades yet.
I thought the biolizard was based off of the chaos mural instead, hence why they also have artificial chaos everywhere. But I HAVE always liked that about shadow even if that isn't exactly confirmed.
Shadow has super sonic's hair, Gerald definitely went to angel island at one point and had a LOT of inspiration from chaos and the master emerald, hence the temple replica on his space station.
He needed to find something to pick for the shape/body of the ultimate life form, and he went with lizard first, hedgehog second.
A fan theory.
Gerald at some point was on Angel Island. The Ark has an emerald alter designed just like the one Knuckles guards.
So theres a headcanon that the Biolizard is based on the mural of Perfect Chaos, and Gerald saw himself, a chaos emerald, and Shadow in the Hidden Palace mural.
Nothing is canon.
Oh I hadn't thought about the Chaos mural. It's a possibility I suppose.

Always wondered about that, but I saw it as a quick excuse to have the emeralds in the core, when they should've been locked into the control room area.
It's also probably why the biolizard lives there.

That's what's so great about the Sonic series. Since there's no ongoing narrative, everyone is able to have their own headcanons and theories to piece things together in any way they want.

I miss the little narrative they had going with the Echidnas and the emeralds from 3K up to Adventure 2. Some days I'm fine with the direction Modern Sonic games are taking (episodic, self contained plots that don't contradict each other often) but then I think of Echidnas and I get sad.

One of the things that I think makes Sonic so attractive to OC makers is that there is some canon and continuity, but since its as loose as can be you can do whatever you want. That and there is a precedent for everything, and a contonuity for everyone. You cpuld have a time traveling alien and it'd be 100% normal in Sonic

The thing is that in SA2 people were confusing Shadow for Sonic, so it could make sense for Sonic to say Shadow was faking being him.

Since Shadow was created in a test tube and is not a naturally born hedgehog, calling Shadow a faker is in fact a targeted and heinous insult, and the only way Sonic gets away with it is because it counters Shadow's arrogance about being the ultimate lifeform.

The way their heads are angled together plus the way their bodies are caught in the middle of stepping forward makes it look like they are forming a heart.
