alrite this has been a long time coming but since nobody brought it up yet it look like i have to do it myself.

So, ive been hearing the phrase "/mmg/ is lazy and never does shit" a lot. Maybe this has some justification, but I wouldn't know.
What I do know, tho, is that a couple of samefags always shoot down other ppl's project ideas for the board, using this exact phrase as their excuse.

would it kill anyone to give it a shot before discouraging them? We have so many amazing artfags on the board, yet when someone throws up a request, nobody tells them "nah nobody will draw that b, they've don't got none motivation to practice and hone their own gosh darn (sorry language) skills".

When your parent(s) come down to your basement to tell you about how they're worried that you're never doing anything worthwhile, think about how great it would be to show them "no, even though we're a small and niche community, look at what we've been able to accomplish! Look at how dedicated we all are to the things we love!" Because that's what we are, aren't we?

even if youre interested in it, and you see that not many ppl are piping up and the only person who said anything is "hurrdurr mmg is laze", then you never even bother commenting on how you want to participate.
what you dont realize is that every other user is just like that, waiting to see if anyone else is interested in supporting the project. These anons posting about /mmg/'s laziness are discouraging others from even bothering, and that needs to stop.

You've got a point, but I think it's a mix of what you're saying and genuine apathy/unwillingness to try.
People often put up posts like "I want to see this!" and when someone tells them to try make it, they're all "Nah, can't be stuffed" or "I can't draw".

It wasn't always like this though. In the early days of /mmg/, there was a lot of creative activity going on, like fangames, OCs, etc without caring about "I can't really draw..." or whatever.
It's sad that stuff like that is now seen as "cringe" or whatever. It was a hell of a lot of fun.

Exactly. We had that drawing of Blues & Little Bro X in the last thread that was made in someone's phone's fucking photo editor, and the poster didnt care about the "quality" of their pic. From what I can tell, all they cared was that they were contributing to the thread and at least trying to entertain the other anons. If anything, they made a joke out of their shitty drawing. Why can't we have more lighthearted stuff like that? Ntm It would help anons develop their skills more, like Wood Man said.

I'm not much of a talker myself and often have hard time talking to people (+tfw poor English), so while I guess I'm part of the problem, I really hope we could start being a little more active again.
And this kind of mentality is probably what keeps us from getting any new games. Haven't you all mourned more than enough about this?
I know shit's been kinda depressing lately and it might feel like we cannot do much on our own anymore, but as a community the least we could do is show that we still care about what we love so maybe we could even attract some new fans. Sure, sounds sappy as all hell, but these things are hard to say without doing so.

I'm probably not making much sense, but ya just saying that I care. Writing is definitely not my forte but I promise to do my best as an artfag here as usual.
