Hi, I have about $15,000 saved up. Any advice on what I should invest in? I got some shares in Apple $5000 AUD which have gone up to $6500 US - around $8500. So, I might put $15,000 in something smart. Any ideas?
I was thinking of putting some in Amazon or Berkshire Hathaway, only because the latter is down 800%

BTC is bitcoin, and I don't know what ICN is.
If you want an index fund, you could do VTSAX. If you don't have an account with Vanguard, the ETF version of that is VTI. You could also look into SPY, another ETF that tracks the S&P 500. I believe that ETFs vs index fund will boil down to taxes and fees and your comparison between them.
BTC is a different beast. I wouldn't use it as an investment tool, rather a trading tool. And you better know what you are doing because it is a volatile market.

I've got 4 grand across 6 Aussie blue chips, and another two in VAS. I'm down about 100 dollars on the shares, minus brokerage. Would I be better off selling the shares at a small loss and dumping it all in VAS?
Michael Mitchell
Sorry, meant to say my loss includes brokerage.
