HOW TO FIX COVENANTS >darkmoon works the way it did in previous games, they get the blue eye orb to invade sinners and succesful invaders >blue sentinel and way of blue are combined into a single covenant, with blue sentinel being a "higher rank" of way of blue that can be summoned and summon, and are seperated from Darkmoon >add a proper darkwraith and dragon covenant to the game >bring back the sin, covenant, and indictment system from DS1 >leaving a covenant prevents covenant item use >various items related to but not part of the covenant (like lightning/sunlight miracles and solaire's shit for Warriors, Wolf Knight/Abyss Watcher/Exile shit for Watchdogs, Londor dark miracles Darkwraith shit for Darkwraiths, deep sorceries and miracles for Faithful, etc) become covenant exclusive items, including soul transposed and DLC exclusive items >Faithful can be joined at and can invade at Cathedral of the Deep, similar to Warriors of Sunlight being joinable before Lothric Castle >auto-invasions (watchdogs, faithful, darkmoon, sentinels) are no longer level dependant, and use the password summon level scaling >ability to kill Rosaria yourself for her soul >make your covenant relevant to some questlines (having to be a Darkwraith for Yuria's, not being a Faithful for Anri's, etc)
This basically would fix most of the autism people complain about >Darkmoon Blades not functioning like it always has and being impossible to get summoned as one >fixes this same but lesser issue to a lesser extent with Watchdogs of Farron and Aldritch Faithful >shuts up the people bitching about no Darkwraith or Dragon covenant, and the fact that dragon form is absolutely terrible and useless >makes covenants important and actually relevant to your build, gameplay, and overall playthrough of the game like they were in the other two games in the series

Cute!

Allow Aldrich faithful to invade cathedral, allow watchdogs to invade AoA, allow spears of the church to invade streets shared graves. Dragon covenant to invade the Peak and put special summons, and blue moon guards mix with way of the blue, leader is someone at fire link and you level up to help stop invaders while also still being able to call blues. Dark moon exist as sin collectors, sin is accumulated through killing npcs or killing blues.

>fixing things when the bulk of the people who play the game have already uninstalled after completing TRC At this point, you just have to accept that covenants in DaS3 will remain broken and hope that they'll be implemented properly in the next Souls game.

Reposting from old thread
they should transfer every enjoyable/creative content from former games of the series to new adaptions, while still adding new content like they did in DaS3
>gravelord convenant >gravelord sword and miracles >ciaran and goughs set and weapons >some of the fun pyromancies and sorceries from DaS2
Something you would like to have in 3 again from former games?

Yeah it's pretty good but I'm still bad so I rely on Crystal homing soulmass to stagger into CSS, hoping for a kill, then harassing with White Dragon Breath & Farrow flashsword. When I get the dark-boosting mask I'll try running primarily dark instead.
Isaac Moore
Seath keychain.

you can still offer tongues if you got all the rewards
Jose Rogers
Try offering a tongue anyway? And I'll have my sign down at the Farron Keep Perimeter bonfire, the one just before Fanclub.

Gravelord specifically wouldn't really work.
They could adapt it to Carthus in a way. Theme is around the grave wardens and dark pyromancies. Turn the gravelord dances into dark pyromancies, sort of like dark versions of firestorm and chaos storm. A couple other dark spells could be added as well, like dark fog and dark bead. Add a dark pyroflame that comes from the covenant as a reward, maybe base it off of the skull lantern from the first dark souls or something, and then maybe bring back Gravelord Sword that has minimal physical scaling, and really good int/faith scaling, sort of like a dark version of Moonlight Greatsword.
Connor Young
>gravelord covenant I would rather have something like DS2's NG+ system or the way the areas had different spawns after certain events in the game. It wasn't a massive change or anything in BB but even the small changes that happened during the moon phase changes made the world feel more alive somehow.
One of the big "crimes" of DS3 is that the Eclipse is COMPLETELY without ANY impact on the game world. I mean sure, making changes to the spawns of the game world or other impactful changes would be asking a bit much but DS3 does NOTHING to acknowledge it. No NPC has any lines of dialogue relating to the fact that a giant asshole just opened up in the sky or anything.
In Bloodborne the Yharnam citizenry changed noticeably in tone when you talked to them after events and there is all things considered, only one event in DS3 so they couldn't have SOMEONE comment on it? It just makes the game world feel so much more static and apathetic.
As it is the eclipse is cool, but without anyone reacting to it, it just comes off as another shallow reference without any deeper meaning and that's a darn shame.

the DLC was made by the B team aka the "lol ur will lose ur soles over and over ;d"

I meant thematically. A Carthus Grave Warden theme would be a better thematic fit.
Noah Russell
Css Soul mass Soul arrow Old Moonlight
Luis Morgan
This is one of the biggest problems with 3s endgame. There's no acknowledgement or big change that the world itself is literally ending, it would be great to go back to old areas like Undead Settlement and you could see how enemies would react to it, maybe even new loot would spawn from this, or NPCs like Corynx and Karla would go off the deep end on their own. Instead it's just nothing.
David Roberts

Nito is dead and long forgotten. It wouldn't work lorewise, and would need to be refluffed.
Mechanically, fuck yeah, Gravelord is best covenant.
Sebastian Gutierrez
Why don't we have charged R1s?
Alexander Cox
Yeah I mean : DeS had the Nexus music change when you killed enough Archdemons into this really gloomy and ominous organ music. Addirionally the dialogues of both the disciples and the magicians shifted gradually to a more greedy / sinister tone and biorr changes his skepticism from the charges against Allant into acknowledging that he actually might have gone mad. There was definite BUILDUP to things.
In DaS the buildup is towards getting the Lordvessel with Frampt hyping it up like he's about to cum.
Bloodborne has the music change, NPC dialogues, Oedon Chapel losing their marbles and the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire
I guess DS3 has a cool music change when you give the Fire Keeper eyes but that's more secret ending stuff.
Luis Morris

DLC wasn't made by "B team". The "B team" doesn't even exist anymore, it was only for a few games (ACV/ACVD and DS1, DS2 and BB) that the company was split between two groups. After the kadokawa takeover there is no such thing as a "B team".
The entire company worked together on DS3 and for future games they're probably rotating production like what other studios do, so everyone will have some influence on every game.
B-team is a bad meme anyway. The devs on "b team" were more experienced and older members of the company, they were just given shitty budgets compared to the new people that were brought on to work with Sony/Studio Japan on DeS or BB.
Jose Ramirez

i dont care about the b team meme but friede is a pretty bad fight.
Jaxson Rivera
The devs on the B team had almost none of the people who were doing DeS / DaS1 and they brought in Naotoshi Zin who worked on the King's Field games, hence DS2 having a lot of KF-y influences and it not feeling as much of a "Souls" game.
Carson Richardson
Could anybody drop me a Demon's Scar? Any upgrade level is fine, and I would really appreciate it.

I don't really have much to give in return. A half dozen embers, if you want them. Some concord proofs if you can drop those? I don't know.

I actually really liked Friede, and I didn't see the problem with it, other than requiring 2-3 attempts to finally see all the forms.
Friede on her own isn't that hard and is very easy to dodge everything. The second phase is a damage race and you can easily stagger/riposte father Ariandel and ignore Friede except when she heals (then backstab her).
And the third phase is just a powered up version of the first phase. Throw on a spellplate ring and you're good. The hype and music and visual style of ice and fire looked cool, also.
I found friede way easier than sulyvahn and both had the same kind of combo attack gimmick.
Aiden Cox
>Small Lothric Banner >When the High Wall appeared, the path to the Undead Settlement was blocked, and messengers came bearing this banner. They were sent out with a duty, but had no way of returning when Cornyx says that the lands have drifted together and that Izalith should be nearby, he meant it pretty literally. Though, according to the banner description, it seems that the Undead Settlement was in one place and converged with Lothric very suddenly
Leo Wood

I need a lore check: How come I explored 3 version of the firelink shrine, the one where I bring the lords of cinder, the one where all light has faded and the one where it's completely destroyed? Am I a time traveler?
The game's ''follow the clues and figure the lore out by yourself'' philosophy is giving me a big headache.
Oliver Mitchell
>Friede >related to Gwyn
James Bell
Yes? That's my point.
The devs on the "B team" were the ones working on the armored core games before souls came around. Naotoshi Zin included, who was involved in every Armored Core game and was Miyazaki's BOSS for most of Miyazaki's career. Naotoshi Zin worked on DeS and DS1 too.
What hurt DS2 was Miyazaki wanting to put one of his cronies (Shibuya) in charge for the first half of his development, causing lots of production problems and requiring them to bring in Yui Tanimura (from Armored Core) to fix things afterward. Combine that with Bandai Namco's demands for it to be on 360/PS3 requiring the graphics engine to be overhauled and it became a mess.
Shibuya had only minor experience with Another Century's Episode and working with Miyazaki on armored core 4 / for answer. Yui Tanimura had been with the company since the 90s and was in charge of the most successful game they had ever made prior to DeS (Armored Core 2).
I have no idea why Miyazaki entrusted the entirety of DS2 to the inexperienced Shibuya instead of using many of the other more experienced lead developers but it was a dumb decision either way.
Xavier Brooks
So the Izalith staff is just way better for dark sorceries?
Does the Murky Staff have anything going for it over the Izalith one?
Christopher Walker
it should be obvious youre traveling through time/space. the handmaiden will say something about meeting you before if you talk to her in the dark firelink before the hub firelink
Justin Williams
but she's hot and I want her

As long as you keep Ariandel between you and Friede (easy, since he's a giant wall) it's not that hard really.

Most of do user....most of do.

The Murky Staff is really best for lower level INT dark sorcery usage at around 40~ or so.
