Gentlemen, how do we fix Fiat Chrysler?

Gentlemen, how do we fix Fiat Chrysler?

Kill it

Doesn't matter how, you'll be fixing it again in 3 months.

kill it.

Why fix it? the whole point of a Cooperation is to make money. are they making money? seems like it so what's there to fix? i want to "Fix" companies like EA but they are making money so their actions won't change and no one is really going to change a money-making entity. until FCA starts bleeding money everything about FCA will remain the same.

kill chrysler
fold doge into ram
sell fiat to china

>make a new quarter ton truck out of the wrangled for Jeep
>proceed with hybrid Hemi plans for RAM
>continue diesel development and offer it in the Durango and all Jeeps
>build a new Neon, cheap, efficient, with a fucking turbo offered in highest trim
>proceed on course with all other vehicles

The only reason they're making money is because they're being propped up by Jeep. Any recent indications of their stock price going up are simply riding the current economic boom. The second the economy starts shaking they're going to be right back where Chrysler was in 2008.

China hates Fiat though, they aren't going to buy them

Sell Fiat to Renault-Nissan. The ultimate shitbox conglomerate.

>The second the economy starts shaking they're going to be right back where Chrysler was in 2008.
The WHOLE of FCA? Chrysler in 2008 was no where near the size of FCA Together today. Fiat going down would greatly effect parts of Europe too.

>tfw your renault engine gives up on the highway but your fiat transmission disengages the clutch allowing you to roll while your nissan brakes fail because they inherited the spirit of the kamikaze

split Chrysler from Fiat and you'd probably fix a lot of problems right then and there.

After that, I couldn't say.

head of fiat has expressed interest in splitting off Jeep as it's own automaker instead of just being a sub-brand of Chrysler.

Which presents certain possibilities. or could be a terrible idea.

Sell Dodge, RAM, and Jeep.
Let them keep Fiat and Chrysler so they can both die a fiery death.

Sheeeeeit

Drop the unprofitable 'chrysler' lineup.

This quite actually, I got a 2013 Ram 1500 in February and the fucker got the CEL again and this is the 5th time. In July it had an electrical problem where the dashboard flickered like a light show, and the wipers would just come on at random.

Last time I buy a vehicle like an idiot without researching it first.

Stop buying anything that doesn't say SRT on it

>Implying Dodge deserves to live if Chrysler deserves to die

...

this
split chrysler from fiat

Continue on current course of making everything into a variant of the 500.
>500t: Ram with 500 facelift
>500j: Jeep Wrangler with 500 facelift
>500p: Pacifica with 500 facelift
>500(300): 300 with 500 facelift
>500cHallenger: Challenger with extra wide 500 facelift
>500neon: Fiat Tipo with Neon facelift modified to look like a 500

>500cHallenger

Would legit drive this

An unholy fusion to be sure, but one can imagine.

Turn back time
To the good old days~

>he fucking unironically believe this

GM should buy Jeep

>how do we fix Fiat Chrysler?
Jeep Sahara has that fiat style back.

China wants the dealership locations. Since Jeep is basically at most dealership locations, buying Jeep and discarding the rest is the way to go. China wants to discard the rest because if it buys the whole corporation, it has to take responsibility for the pension and benefit plan payments. China has always been bad about compensation plans in the past and since Jeep would be a usa company, China cannot cheat the retirees like they do in chinese courts.

>SRT Twingo
Yes please.

Liquidate

>admitting that capitalism is why we don't have nice things

FIAT makes money with Dodge, Jeep, and Ram. But what type of money do they make with Chrysler branded vehicles? They have the 300 and Pacifica under the Chrysler name, that's it. The 200 was discontinued. I want to say the only reason FIAT keeps Chrysler around is because of brand name recognition but they only sell two cars and I can't imagine the Pacifica being a hot selling item in crossover frenzy world right now. What is stopping FIAT from just dropping Chrysler and using that money to further invest into Dodge or Jeep?

Kill Chrysler
Kill Lancia
Dodge will only sell the Charger and Challenger
Let go of Alfa Romeo and Maserati
Stop selling FIAT in North America
Let the Chinese make Jeep

> I can't imagine the Pacifica being a hot selling item in crossover frenzy world right now

You'd be surprised. You still have a very strong demand for minivans.

Hmm well I guess that explains why out of the two cars Chrysler makes that one of them is a minivan. Maybe the Chrysler 300 actually has decent sales as well?

And I guess kill Ram too or merge it with Dodge like the good ol days?

I just noticed something. with all the foreign automakers out of the picture they can retract to the AMC name.

tfw they're making Maserati all hybrids

>But what type of money do they make with Chrysler branded vehicles?
The problem is that Chrysler got hollowed out years ago and is reaping the problems of a more competitive market as well as the population becoming more willing to buy foreign cars that have improved a lot such as Kia and Hyundai.

If the Chinese are forced to buy all of chrysler with the employee pensions and benefit payouts, I suspect that the chinese will progressively sell off the assets to chinese companies (owned or controlled by the original buyers of chrysler) and then lease back those assets such as assembly line equipment, the plant space, and real estate and storage lots. Then the chinese will have chyrsler go bankrupt in order to shed the pension, medical, and benefits and 401K obligations of the retirees. The only real buyer for the remaining fragmented partial assets would be the chinese. They've done it before and they'll do it again.

I mean, we could try a bit of socialism. imagine that back in the earlier days when there were a lot more US auto companies before a lot of them faded or were bought up by GM. imagine if GM weren't allowed to buy all these brands to prevent them from having a large monopoly over US auto factories ensuring that even smaller Manufacturers have to exist forcing bigger ones to try harder rather than just buy them out and potentially ruin them with poor management of the whole company.

Now imagine that any auto firm actually doing cool or innovative stuff would be Subsidised in certain ways to ensure their product has a chance to get market attention.
>Saturn's priority is being an Import fighter
>Saturn gets money to take off and reach higher popularity developing better and better in-house shitbox designs finally establishing themselves as a relatively small underdog but still strong independent brand that doesn't answer to GM that eventually moves on to fun FWD cars as well
Would that be better?

They're going to fix themselves soon once all their cars are refreshed.

Minivans are actually one of the more profitable types of vehicles as well, right up with pickup trucks

The 300 moves about 55-55,000 units a year.

The Pacifica minivan has sold 75,000 YTD, the old Town & country was moving over 100,000 a year, hitting over 150K on some years

How?

That would be cool actually...

More muscle cars instead of the same ol 3 (Mustang, Camaro, Challenger+Charger). But it may never happen.

I mean, it would be cool no doubt. But could the NA market support another sports car?

Hellcat 124.

kill fiat and bring back the plymouth road runner and plymouth horizon

Check'd

Someone make it happen

>But could the NA market support another sports car?

You know.... I honestly have no clue.

Surely they can though..

>Mustang
>Camaro
>Challenger
>370z
>STI
>86/BRZ
These are what I consider to be affordable new sports cars in the NA market. I could list more like the AMG's and M series, but those are getting up there in price. A new muscle car would definitely face some steep competition. However, if they went ahead and did what Dodge did by bringing back the Challenger, it could work. The car would have to have some history to it, for example like a plymouth duster. A fresh new muscle car would be hard to sell in this current market.

I'm genuinely curious, why do you think the Chinese should make Jeeps?

muh dick

A lot of American and European automakers are getting their cars made in China. "Chinese quality" is a meme just like "American made" is, China is making cars for Buick, Cadillac, Ford, Volvo, Land Rover/Jaguar for less money, in larger amounts, and for the same "quality".

>China is making cars for Buick, Cadillac, Ford, Volvo, Land Rover/Jaguar for less money, in larger amounts, and for the same "quality".
Here is an example of a Chinese car made for Chevrolet. I did not make the caption since whoever made it had confused brands of bicycles.

This is a chevrolet branded car made in china in a collision with a bicycle.

Split Fiat and Chrysler. Fiat can fuck off and do their own shit, they seem to have their stuff handled, or maybe they don't, I don't really give a shit. As for Chrysler, resurrect AMC and Plymouth. Make DSM a thing again.

Monopoly over US brands is the only answer. GM will fall under the spaghetti course and Ford will be the last.

Looks more like a South Korean Daewoo bro.

New management.

>Split Fiat and Chrysler.
FCA can't just split because much of the value is in the dealership and distribution chain while the liabilities are in the corporation itself. If it were so easy to split, all of the unscrupulous corporations would have repeatedly done so year after year in order to shed debt responsibility.

Chinese companies copied lots of other cars to save time and money on designing internal features. It takes time to develop something, and that doesn't make money. What makes money is having something to sell immediately.

bring back saturn
oh wait wrong failing car company

I'm going to be honest here, I think I've seen maybe less than a handful of fiat cars on the road. And I live in Phoenix.

Kill Chrysler, merge RAM into Dodge. That's about it.
Americans have GM and Ford, they don't need anything more than that.

Ram Dodge
Marry Ram
Kill Chrysler
Fuck China

MCGA
MAKE CHRYSLER GREAT AGAIN

at the same time this can backfire spectacularly
>another Obama gets in office
>starts massively subsidizing """green""" cars and the expense of everyone else just to push his agenda

>Fuck China
Doesn't work. Clinton fell for the bribes and signed China in a trade partnership with the Most Favored Nation status. Even if you tried to have chinese goods inspected, you would fail because part of that agreement negotiated by the clever chinese is that there is a max limit on the number of chinese goods that can be inspected. For a copyright and patent thief like China, not having goods inspected is a huge concession that supports criminal activity especially if they game the system.

>Gentlemen, how do we fix Fiat Chrysler?
There is too much market competition to allow financial indulgence in fixing FCA.

Their trucks are beautiful. They have a ton of oomph, get reasonably good gas mileage while having a great driving feel.

Unfuck Jeep. Offer actual fucking XJ successor and make the Wrangler not ass again. They've already confirmed the Scrambler so unfuck it the same way the Wrangler needs to be since it precludes an MJ successor.
Dodge is doing alright.
Ram needs a Raptor competitor, and an SRT-8 Hellram would be nearly no effort to produce. If a Canadian dealershit can do the engine swap on their own with no factory support there's no reason not to offer it from the factory.
2018 Viper. Enough said.
Chrysler is Chrysler. There's no saving it.
Fiat; same as Chrysler. Try upgunning the 124. Nothing else can be done.

Jeep was never better than when it was the largest remnant arm of AMC. an independent Jeep would be the best possible thing to happen to the make. We might even see Jeeps as Jeeps were meant to be; tin cans with engines and lots of suspension travel.

maybe we could finally get some of those wonderful concept jeeps we keep seeing, with the kaiser front end

-Sell Alfa Romeo and Ferrari to VAG, who is yearning for them.
-Sell Jeep to chinks cuz they want it badly
-Disband Chrysler
-Disband Fiat in US
-Disband Lancia
-Disband Maserati
-Disband Dodge/Ram in the world - Keep it in US only
-Sell Dodge/Ram later on

Sergio Marchionne is a total hack.

YOURE ALL FUCKING UP A PERFECTLY GOOD HELLCAT ABARTH 500 RIGHT NOW

>Sell Alfa Romeo and Ferrari to VAG

You fucking wish you stupid krautcuck

>Sergio Marchionne was flirting the idea about selling these brands to VAG, and VAG responded seriously. Marchionne backed off cuz he wanted the media attention.
>Marchionne realizes VAG would buy them without hestiation. Meaning VAG could turn them around and be profitable.
>when Marchionne's face

I live in CA and they are all over the place here. Although, I've only really seen the small 500 and not the larger 4 door thing.

>compact pick up based off the Wrangler, with the Jeep brand
>everything in the Chrysler brand will be a plug in hyrbid
>Alfa will slot in above Chrysler in luxury/sport segments.
>dodges will all be non-plug in hybrids.
>fiats, outside europe, will compete against Mini.
>200 mile EV to compete against model 3, Bolt, LEAF 2.0. dodge in north america, fiat everywhere else.
>8 year, 100,000 miles warranty that covers everything.
>dodge/ram/chrysler/jeep has no haggle pricing.
>ditch the rwd sedans. chrysler can have awd optional on all cars.

VAG would own Ferrari and Lambo.

VAG would make all Ferraris and Lambos badge engineered Audis.

Enzo and Ferruccio would be spinning in their graves.

>Lambos
>Ferruccio would be spinning in their graves.

Hardly. Under VAG/German ownership, Lambo is healthier and produces more appealing products than spaghetti niggers could ever have dreamed for.

Ferruccio would not be spinning in his grave. Probably peaceful sleep.

>Lambos badge engineered Audis.

Well, it is impressive that Audi managed to make Lambo to be the fastest production car to ever lap the Nurburgring.

remove

...

Lol I hope VAG buys Alfa and Ferrari just to see the assravaged italian posters on Veeky Forums

>Audi-engineered Lambo: 6:52.01
>ACR: 7:01.3

Well, Lambo is faster than discontinued Viper.

...

I imagine they do better in the international market.

not production

umm, no sweetie. It is production.

>Gentlemen, how do we fix Fiat Chrysler?
Part of the problem is that the marketplace is saturated by all the different car makers out there. The slice of pie that FCA has is thus much smaller than what FCA was accustomed to having in the 1980's and 1990's. That history is important because the large workforce back then has retired by now and is drawing upon their employee retirement benefits packages. They are also drawing on their employee retirement pensions. All of that is basically vampire debt to FCA that drags it down. Until all those people die off, and they won't for decades yet, FCA will be dragged down into the gutter especially if the fully vested retirement employees continue their medical coverage plans.

They could reintroduce the Charger properly, instead of a sedan driven mostly by basketball-americans.

As much as I would like to see the actual Charger come back, I don't think FCA would do it because the Charger has decent sales. They sold almost 100k in 2016. Not to mention if a consumer was shopping the market for a sporty sedan, your options are pretty limited. I think this is why they chose to bring back the Charger as it is now. The LX model was very popular, they sold over 120k back in 2007. I actually like the LX model.

hell, its nice just even having a big RWD sedan option that isnt fuck off expensive

FCA spent 8 billions to recreate Alfa Romeo from scratch and you genuinely believe that they could be interested in selling this brand to their competitors.

Not only this, you also believe that VAG could make use of Alfa Romeo in its over saturated lineup, where Audi is both the luxurious and sports brand just before Porsche.

Pic related would be proven true again, just switch the brands.

make dodge just the charger, challenger, durango, ram, viper

everything else like a dart, 200, journey, a fiat

chrysler 100, 200, 300, 400, 500
>100 - crossfire
>200 - alfa guilia based car

>400 - grand cherokee with a 300 front end
>500 - pacifica with a 300 front end
>all the chryslers have 300 front ends
