I have ~12k I want to put into the stock market

I have ~12k I want to put into the stock market

is it feasible for me to generate a 100$ profit each day on average? obviously I wouldn't want to invest all 12k at once. im not too interested in long-term investments (unless I should be?). I'm thinking more swing trading/possibly day trades.

and assuming i generally know what im doing w/ my trades

why not just bet on lepen at the french elections, or use robin hood and waltz on over to rhg and buy meme stocks

>is it feasible for me to generate a 100$ profit each day on average
no

why not

$100 or 0.8% a day is 300% a year. Smartest people in the world can do it. Are you one of the smartest people in the world? If so, go for it, easy money.

dumbass
>12,1/12=0,833% per day
>0,00833^365=2065% per year

God im dumb

>tech analysis indicators are decent at telling you when to buy/sell

am i being retarded?

yes. also 300% is unrealistic, this is the best hedgefund over a long period of time:

impressive, but nowhere near 300%

I'm dumb too. What are you calculating here? I do not see where these numbers are coming from. What does 12,1/12 represent? How you you get 2065 from 0,00833^365?

/thread

a handful of people beat the market. And even those people can only get like 20% to 30% per year.

Oh and if its a recession those guys get fucked like a 2 dollar whore.

like for instance:

yesterday KO was @ 41.46. at that point the RSI (set at 3 days) was below 30%, indicating that the trend may change direction. when the RSI went above 70% it was at 41.69. that is a .05% return right? not exactly what i had asked for in the first place but its .05%.

what am I missing out on here?

he starts off with $12k and hopes to have $12,1k at the end of the day. This would mean he made 0,833% that day.
The second one i typed out wrong, it's supposed to be 1,00833^365 and basically what you make in a year, percentage-wise.

trading fees
hindsight bias
competing against large institutions which employ PhDs in financial mathematics and have glass-fiber internet directly to the next stock exchange

try it out on paper first.

>he starts off with $12k and hopes to have $12,1k at the end of the day
Okay, that should have been obvious.
>he second one i typed out wrong, it's supposed to be 1,00833^365
That was confusing.

Thanks for clearing that up. I've just started to try to learn this stuff.

>hindsight bias
you say this but if you look back through KO's recent history the RSI is fairly reliable so why wouldn't it be tomorrow?

>regular 300% gain

The fact that you think this even possible makes me realize you have no idea what you are doing and probably never traded real or paper money in your life. Just go to the casino. That's the best strat for you.

...

Stick with the simulators and see how that plays out for you bud :^)

the last 4/5 coinlips were heads, surely the chance of head is 4/5! You are either extremely lucky or you can see the future if you want 300% over any significant period.

the minimum for day trading is 25k.

google "pattern day trading"

>the minimum for day trading is 25k
no, what shitty nigerian broker told you this
