Every character outside of the Mishimas are pretty easy to use. Ling has stance stuff, but you can ignore that when you start out with her and gradually pick up on it.

I know it doesn't need to be said that a fighting game's story isn't really the most important aspect of the game but I have to say, in this day and age where fighting games have some modicum of effort put into their stories, without spoiling too much, I feel very disappointed with Tekken 7's and their character 'stories' (if you can call it that).

Wasn't one of the main reasons why the console version took long to release was because they wanted to brush up the story aspect in the first place? And this is the best they can do?

Jesus Christ they absolutely did next to nothing for the characters unrelated to the Mishima plot, especially the new characters. I think this is just as bad, if not worse than the main plot.

The only one who had a remotely decent episode was Steve (and I am reaching as far as a character from Nintendo Switch's ARMs with this). Other than that, it's like the other characters might as well not exist.

I think I'm just going to have to accept that a majority of these characters will always be in what I'd like to call 'story advancement limbo' where nothing ever changes with these characters. ie: Law and Paul will always be dirt poor, King will always go 'MUH ORPHANS', Eddie will never confront Kazuya concerning the murder of his father, etc.

On that last note, Shaheen, one of the new Tekken 7 characters, also has beef with Kazuya. But guess what, he actually confronts him (despite the stupid comedic tone of it), unlike Eddie who has been chasing him for who knows how long.

He'll be back for Tekken Tag 3. Coming early this century.

Tekken is competing with Chun-Li, Poison, Juri, the titty monsters in DoA, and the anime girls in blazblue(i've never even played BB but I know all about that squirrel girl).
The best Tekken has to offer is.. Ling? and Ling didn't even start looking good until Tekken 4-5. Nina and Anna aren't really all that crazy in their design either. Jun is (((dead))). Christie was okay but she's (((dead))) now too.
I'd say it's just fault of Tekken's designs not being super out there since they went for a more realistic approach.
However with Eliza, Chloe, Josie, and Ling 2.0, we should be getting a lot more art. Not to mention Asuka and Lili already get quite a bit.
