Willing to bet that Ulthuan will just be Athel Loren 2.0 with the vortex replacing the Oak of ages, 3 minor settlements 1 capitol, and Helf rebels controlling all the minor settlements and no other minor Helf faction.

If you're gonna play Chaos, get the Warlords of Chaos mod and the Liberate as Vassals one, so awakened tribes become vassals (even if they're still pretty useless). Vanilla Chaos Campaign is tedium incarnate.
Jose Davis
what are you expecting from a tw game
Josiah Perez
Those weapons were probably ported from m&b senpai
James Bailey
nah dude, wait to get chaos until game 2 or 3 comes out, and hopefully they'll have made chaos more interesting by then.
right now the entire campaign is: move, battle, loot, move battle, raze, move, battle, loot, etc
its very monotonous
Luis Butler
Too late. Not really interested in overhaul mods but the vassal one was actually something that i was looking for. Thanks user!
Anthony Powell
I like listening to faction "appropriate" music, so for an undead campaign I'll listen to things like
I'm totally happy to listen to that on repeat until everyone sees the might of ZE LADY but I'd like more please.
Please accept this pic as tribute.
Jace Phillips
I never understood this. How can you listen to, lets say, serious music like Toccata and Fugue but then also listen to less serious music such as ghostbusters theme?
It would kinda break it for me. You are marching with your undead army to the sound of orchestra and when you´re tearing down the enemy walls, ghostbusters theme starts. Seems kinda silly to me.
Kayden Walker
>Seems kinda silly Quintessentially Warhammer.
Ryder Torres
im inventing a new chaos god, ill show you when im done
Also, do I try to make a kingdom in Germany, or do I fuck off and migrate elsewhere?
Bentley Ward
Burgundians best tribe. Make Burgundy or migrate Spain/Africa/Egypt

I don't like to use well known music as it will always remind me from where it is and because of that destroy immersion. I use music from amateurs on yt like this for Vampire Counts youtube.com/watch?v=ML0XFlWkEvk I remember that i liked to listen to this Adrian von Ziegler guy, though as most of yt composers all of his works are very similar. Like, they found a way to make Vampire, Viking or Celtic themed music once and keep doing this same one all over again with few changes. Hardly memorable, but immersive for my campaigns in various strategy games. Also I don't like words in such music as it usually won't be related to game and thus out of place.
Isaac Sanchez
No problem. Playing some outside music instead of the ingame one, which, with is okay but not exceptional, is something I'm thinking of doing myself. I don't have my own list but if you wanna look for more, Dawn of War, WoW, the Witcher and earlier Total Wars, especially Medieval 2, have songs I feel that fit pretty well with Warhammer.
Here's some more stuff. I thought I'd just post one or two more but it became a little more than that, haha:
>when you play Shogun 2 which has objectively the best soundtrack in the series so you don't need to listen to other music while playing
Jack Evans
For undead/chaos you definitely should listen to Slayer. "Disciple" is pretty much archaeons theme song, "Bloodline" is mannfreds.
Other noteworthy slayer songs for chaos/undead >hell awaits >raining blood >dead skin mask >chemical warfare >seasons in the abyss >the entire God hates us all album >the entire Reign in blood album
For Bretonnia/wood elves Ensiferum is 10/10 >burning leaves >lady in black >into battle >unsung heroes >Lai Lai hei >in my sword I trust
Manowar has many great songs for dwarves/empire/Bretonnia >battle hymn >hail kill and die >hand of doom >heart of steel >die with honour >king of kings
And amon amarth has shit loads of good stuff regarding battles and mythology
When you're a good faction fighting undead >as loke falls >fate of norns >one against all
Generic battle songs >free will sacrafice >we shall destroy >raise your horns >warriors of the north >with Oden on our side >deceiver of the gods
Other good bands for total war in general >the sword >Tyr >sabaton (Carolus Rex album/last stand) >iron Maiden >Dio >various classical artists and traditional military songs
Why did CA focus on the battles for TWW, but make the sieges such absolute garbage and infinitely worse than Attila?
Luis Perry
I was about to agree but then I realized the only once I can remember is Uncle Samurai.
Lucas Walker
Either they ran out of time/money to make big warhammer cities, or intended that the seiges be simplified in order to make the siege experience more consistent, rather than the shit you get in Atilla and R2 where single units of pikemen can murder a near infinite amount of AI troops if you're defending.
But, you can't really say which one is correct just from an outside perspective. Maybe Sega didn't give them a big budget to work with given that Atilla sold poorly and venturing into fantasy was potentially risky.
>Either they ran out of time/money to make big warhammer cities
Probably couldn't make big functional city battle maps for every race(thinking long term). Any cheese in TWW walled sieges also work in Attila and Rome 2, but overall the walled sieges functions better in TW than in rome 2 and Attila.
Big defensive or attacking siege battles never happen Attila though, which makes their nice walled battle maps kinda pointless(defending Constantinople never ever).
I wish it had unwalled siege battles, but I manage to enjoy TWW sieges anyway.
Been playing as Marienburg lately, heavily roleplaying, just doing my thing, taking care of my 2 settlements and eventually jewing out the Empire. My plan is to win the game with vassalage, if that's possible. It's the most fun I've had with this game so far.
I just can't bring myself to have fun with auto-resolving settlement after settlement and having a blob empire. I wish more games let me play as a small nation and let me have small legitimate goals that don't involve conquering the world.
>wish more games let me play as a small nation and let me have small legitimate goals that don't involve conquering the world.
Well user, the game *lets* you do exactly that, as do a lot of games. But at the end they probably won't give you the victory screen. But after the first campaign, does anyone care?
Isaiah Johnson
>Attila keeps crashing when I try to pick custom battles
Anyone else with this problem? It's a fresh installation with no mods, and I already did try reinstalling.

What's everyone favourite piece of music from the Total War series? The main menu music from Medieval 2 does it for me.
Just started a Sclavenian legendary campaign and suffice to say I'm having a few problems keeping the Huns from raping and pillaging every fucking inch of my kingdom.
poison archers are op af and will make any units they hit exhausted for the rest of the battle. Be sure to use them on hunnic cav/horse archers. Iirc slavenians have the bonus vs nomads and the horse hewer type inf so the battles shouldn't be as much as a problem
As far as campaign map strategy since the slav area is wide open with little in the way of chokepoints, you are probably going to want to make liberal use of ambush stance - even if you don't get an ambush off your army will be hidden and the ai will have no idea it exists until they discover it, which will allow you to bait weak/raiding armies into the movement range of your more powerful stacks, instead of the ai magically skirting around the edge of your movement range like they love to do

You can't have a quick match when the game is fucking dead dude.
Always gets me pumped up. And that bit at 2:10 is just umfff.

It's boring
Every campaign plays the same with each playthrough, there is no variation between your first or second dwarf campaign
John Murphy
Spaghetti lines killed it.
Alexander Lewis
>there is no variation between your first or second dwarf campaign
It's often up to you, but dwarfs are kinda geographically locked in which makes that harder.
Basically all of my games as the Empire have been different(also because of mods)

Well, /twg/?
Wyatt Lee
Reinstall drivers if that doesn't work, verify the game cache/mess around around with settings If that doesn't work, reinstall TWW If that doesn't work, install gentoo
Juan Edwards
To be fair Dwarf are by far the most safe and boring campaign. personally I've had the most fun with Vampires, Empire and Bretonnia.
The game does have a lot of problems though but they have been making good steps into making it better. I hate to say it but you kind of have to look at it like a early access game. We're basically only 1/3rd of the way through it, and even then most of it was CA experimenting.
THAT SAID I think Warhammer 2 is going to either make or break this project. We'll see if they're going to overhaul it into the game it should be or if they'll keep down the broken and unfinished path of Warhammer 1
Ethan Miller
>dwarf campaign No shit you're not having fun. There's a reason so many people on /twg/ like to shit on dwarves.

Do I generally want halberds or not on the demigryphs?

Do towers still have infinite range?

Yeah, but there are mods to get rid of it if you want.
