First for Godot!

actual old::

I'm kinda afraid of posting this close to the top because everyone will see it
Can we maybe move things down a little bit?

what's your monster jam game user?

Sure here's silly shit instead.

I wish I was a light ball

What are you goals for today user? Are you working on a jam or are you getting your demo ready for DD15?

people usually ignore shit that's at the very top and respond more to stuff that's posted 150-300 posts in

WebM section

I'm gonna make it rain
Literally. I want pretty weather in my game.
Aiming for a 1 to 2 level demo for DD15, I think that's a reasonable goal but all the visual polish might take me longer than I expect it.

I am doing research by playing games similar to what I have planned and discussing ethics in video game development.

I'm going to keep making 8bit music loops. I shared this one a couple days ago here:
youtube.com/watch?v=XgWtMXsR5F0

I'm gonna keep doing stuff like this until I have a full library of music. I'll also be working on sound effects.

Despite looking like a editor for a tile-based game, it's not. It's more like a 2D grid, it will make sense if I show a screenshot from the game itself

I kind of forgot about Demo Day, though I'm targeting it for our first demo of Comfy Alchemist.
I need to lay out a clear plan of what we need for that, otherwise I'll get distracted and work on unimportant stuff (like making 12 types of flowers but no NPCs).

>you wanna be the gravity ball
>tfw you're the snail instead, dropped off into the vast vacuum of nothing
Life shouldn't be like this. I just want make game.

Working on getting pathfinding fixed again so lolis don't phase through walls.

>12 types of flowers but no NPCs
Truly the purest and most decadent of pursuits. Forget the game user. Embrace flowers.

To be fair most of them are really small and simple. But still.

what a beautiful world

I only filled up 1/4 of the texture I made for flowers, so I'll probably make a bunch more in the future.
And nobody will even notice them.

I'll notice.

>tools.aggydaggy.com
Maybe it's time for you to update this.

Thank you

Where the fuck is your lighting?

You should make a procedural generation system for flowermaking

I mean, a procedural generator for plants in general, that can be configured to produce flowers

redpill me on godot and 3d

yeah we can't have little girls getting away from us can we?

3.0 will be better than ue4

Your village looks kind of ugly with those harsh dark... well everything is weirdly harsh to be honest. The flowers are fucking cute, though.

Working on improving the tiles. I'm making road tiles right now.

Nowhere yet
I'm working on it though.

quick give me a monster to fight or befriend

...is that a tactics game with giant dinos? I'm sold.

...

A big part of making games is delivering the fantasy the player has in regard to your concept. This is more true the less original your game is, since then it is probably a genre piece and so the player comes into it with a wide variety of expectations.

As far as you're concerned, what is the fantasy of a turn-based dungeon crawler?

Just slap a directional light in the scene and bake some lighting

thank god i didnt post the tank i made for you, yours looks way better

does the next demo day have a date yet?

...

Generic tolkienesque shit.

This 3d stuff is kicking my ass. I think I'll probably have to redo the eyes.

I modified an old track while I was avoiding learning.

TO DO:
subweapon swapping during pause/level clear menu
name
more bosses

for the love of orbs someone please kill this fuck

>one day after the release for next month's game
Demo is a... stretchable term, isn't it?

Someone else should take over the job of making the DD page from vine.
His last few pages have looked like shit. And he only posts here like once a month to shill.

just like make the demo day 16 page now. snipe the url that is always used.

...

>have a to do list
>add notes to the list whenever I think of things to work on later
>every time I work on the project the list gets bigger

I'd say don't quit your day job but you probably don't have one.

It's beautiful

I just realized that I never actually shown how the game plays like.

yes
just like a penis it can excite someone until gives him a hard on

Did this year's GDC produce any good talks?

90% of his movement in that webm seems to consist of spinning and sliding

it feels weird to see him actually standing and running

>idle animation
>idle
>animation

You got a problem, white boi?

yeah the idle animation should be just the t pose
would that make you happy user

>800x660
wtf is this baby nigger resolution lmao

I'm not sure if 30 seconds of running would make an interesting footage

This looks fucking awesome.

Am I playing Sonic the Human?
looks great

This has a very authentic retro feel to it

Hey I might have something for this one.

It looks really good, user

It's really hard

If you can somehow find an organic way to shill this to the speedrunning community at large, then you will definitely have an easy time drumming up a dedicated pre-release fanbase.

Remember: The harder your dick the better it feels to cum

Wrong, a forced chub cum when you don't even feel like cumming is way more intense.

I disagree, I like the village. Reminds me of animal crossing on gamecube

just make a porn game dude

It would be awesome, that's one way to make it popular through twitch streams.

If that was true edging wouldn't be a thing

That's great, AC is one of my main inspirations for this game. But he has a point, with no lighting certain textures are pretty dark and gloomy.

I don't know anything and I wanna learn

are you guys gonna shit on me for asking retarded questions?

just like google it

Is it a bad idea to release a lewd add-on for your game for free after release?

I kinda want to be able to release my game out to stream and other platforms if given the opportunity, but I imagine if I wanted h-scenes I'd have to make a patch people could download for free separately.

Is that gonna ruin my chances of getting my game on family friendly platforms? Or so long as I keep it separate it should be fine?

Yes, if that is enough to discourage you don't even start

lewd devs do that all the time on Steam, it's pretty common

no it isnt im just asking cos some generals are really anal

>178415704
how can i google something i don't even know how to ask

fucking kill yourself

that's a pretty retarded question, how can you possibly ask something if you don't know what you want to ask?

Well he did warn us.

What sorta draw calls should I am for in a mobile game? Using Godot

Not necessarily, there are problems in video games and coding that require you to know a few different parts or at least a proper term to find any helpful material.

Although if you're running into a problem like that with your very first game, you're probably in way over your head to begin with.

>should I aim for

real answer:
instead of drawing on every logical frame, draw only when the visual state of the game is to change.

agdg answer:
HAHA >GODOT HOLY shit fucking POORFAG you should use UNITY it is the ONLY WAY TO MAKE A GAME

Okay let me do a comparison so you understand, if you were interested in learning music theory, you wouldn't know how to ask in goggle how to structure a series of notes and harmonies within a jazz setting so the listener gets a really specific emotion.

This is something that only people who are already experts at the subject, or relatively experienced students are familiar with and consider basic. Maybe that specific concept has a word which you don't know, but google doesn't help.

I don't know about hard numbers but your game should at least be playable on popular smartphones and not just the top-tier ones, the only true way of knowing is by testing.

let us see your art work user

Games aren't as nebulous as music though, usually it's technical as fuck and it's only in level design where you will dive in the nitty gritty of player psychology and shit.

is this a cute game where we teach little girls or is it a degenerate game where we 'teach' little girls?

I hope its the first one.
There are not many comfy games out there.

>if you were interested in learning music theory, you wouldn't know how to ask in goggle how to structure a series of notes and harmonies within a jazz setting so the listener gets a really specific emotion.
im not interested in studying music but that's a pretty simple question to phrase: "what notes make people feel [thing]" or "melodies that feel [thing]" and youd probably get off on a good foot

>he doesn't know
someone post the piss screencap
