Usually populations and activity for private servers dies out after everyone has run through their nostalgia cycles, and then it depends on how good the original game was. Unless the game had strong PvP and endgame it dies even faster then a random official mmo.

There's several out there still, they just don't advertise as much. I'd say check Ragezone.
