All the self loathing, nervousness and embarrassment about sex and outward shame definitely comes across as the author's rather than Ouma's. There's evidence to suggest he's unhappy with his appearance but not to that extent. And Saihara is far, far too smooth for what he is in canon, especially during romantic scenes.
