not from frame 1 for the normals i think, that is only for the special version, and to combo from them you generally have to spend meter to cancel them. also they are launch punishable. Us tekken players are not used to haveing a move be completly invisible.

not bad for first time player. theres usually a huge spike thought in the higher blues that you'll notice between mashing and spamming the same three strings. then higher up everyone plays like they have parkinsons

I can't get past 9th Dan. Then again, when I was playing I'd had 8 pints of beer and it was about 7am. Hopefully I'd do better now.

I started playing Tekken in Tag 2 and I felt exactly like you. The thing that will help you most is to pick a pressure string, a low poke, a launcher/punisher, and work on getting really really good at using those.
