I just installed this game and played the tutorial as Muradin.

Coming from Dota the immediate thing I notice is the giant mana bar lmfao. It was mathematically impossible for me to use too much mana. I can use all abilities including the heroic immediately when cooldown ends and I would still not run out of mana or even go down to half. Is it like this with many characters?

It depends on the character really. Some are seriously mana hungry like Tyrael or Jaina. Others basically never run out like Li Ming or Chromie.
