15k for a car. what do you buy?

So i have 15k, what should i buy. I have an s2000 currently, but want to get something with less miles and more power. Im looking at c5 corvettes. Show me other suggestions. I hardly fit in the s2000, i dont fit in a miata.

>what should i buy

A gym membership

lol

335i

Ill be honest, i think bmws are overengineered and hard to maintain. i dont know if thats still true nowadays or not. ill look into it a bit

You're not gonna find a better allround car than the C5 Corvette at that price.
>sucessful racing history, can actually turn
>LS reliability
>LS aftermarket
>LS exhaust note perfection
>parts cost next to nothing
>looks as exotic as, if not more exotic than, any Aston Martin, Ferrari or Porsche

oh and handling is important as well. i do some spirited driving, autox, and looking to get into road course.

C5 Corvettes can actually turn, they started Chevy's dominance in Le Mans' GT classes.

>looks as exotic as, if not more exotic than, any Aston Martin, Ferrari or Porsche

I can't respond to this

keep s2k, boost it or some shit if you want more power.

i had a supercharger but i already sold it off. the car has over 185k. it will need a lot of money put into it real soon

this.

get a 3k civic and gut it and k20/24 swap it.

no it won't. don't fall for the mileage meme. if you change the oil every 5k and the coolant every couple years it'll run forever.

everybody says this to me when i tell them it is on its last leg. trust me it is almost done. motor lightly ticks and car shakes at idle, trans is fucked 10% of the time and the rear diff is acting funky and making noise.

Shoulda just got a Vette

i bought the s2000 2 years ago for $500 lol

so rebuild it. make it mint. it's worth that.

A Mustang.

They're roomy, sound amazing, have good power, a name behind them that everyone knows and loves, one of the largest aftermarkets of any car, and high customizability.

>looks more exotic than porsche, aston
Lmfao

>Porsche
>looks like a Beetle with a wing
>Aston
>looks like a Fusion coupe
>Vette
>looks like a sports car should, long hood, low, WIDE

I think it's a good choice if you can maintain it personally my favorite gen is the c4 but the c5 is still awesome

>240hp
>no enough

Americans, everybody. Did some pickup pass you?

Porsches dont look exotic my man. Aston is literally nothing. Ford Mondeo styling.

>240 being a lot of horsepower
Europeans lol

I'm a chevy fag 100% but
>looks as exotic as, if not more exotic than, any Aston Martin, Ferrari or Porsche
This is the most retarded thing ive read all day

Be prepared to drop $2k on a clutch replacement job if you purchase a C5 or C6 with a manual transmission
>fun fact: the design of the clutch slave and rod cause clutch dust to contaminate the fluid.
>You need to replace the fluid at least once a month
>the stock bleeder is a total pain in the ass to get to and requires taking apart the exhaust pipes. See: corvetteforum.com/how-tos/a/c6-c7-corvette-how-to-bleed-hydraulic-clutch-system-368192

Make sure to install a speedbleeder on the car should you go through the trouble of draining it once

>looks as exotic as any Aston Martin, Ferrari or Porsche
i think it looks pretty too but c'mon
all your other points are spot-on though

M5!

OP can't fit in the S2000 because of too many burgers so his power to weight ratio is fucked.

>just as exotic

>cheap parts
confirmed for have never worked on a corvette. Otherwise you're right

>b-but that doesn't look exotic at all
>muh corvette has a long hood it looks more exotic!!

im 6' 2" and 190lbs lol. im a rod

You're technically right but those things look good

If sports cars are too small look at the 2004-2006 GTO and 2004-07 CTS-V. Both have similar straight line speed to a C5. While seating 4 or 5 comfortably.

But the LS exhaust note isn't even good.

Spend a little more on a c5 z06. More power and better handling and you'll recoup the extra cost on resale. They've already bottomed out already

Or even better get a C6 since those are dropping too

while the c6 is an objectively better car, they will continue to drop in price.

what do you guys think of this, thinking about buying one

Brz

E55 amg, 460 hp for 10k

Newer S60 AWD or GTI
MAYBE a 3 series

RX7 Turbo 2 in good condition, and set the rest aside for apex seals

>falls apart after leaving the lot
Unless it's a 4th gen getting a Mustang is pointless

A used Prius.

>popups vs no popups
You know what the right choice is OP don't let these benchracers fool you.
