depends on the car, how it was driven, yadda yadda yadda
Mileage isn't a factor, keep up the maintenance and drive it into the ground
Fuck you. This is why so many cars disappear before they can become classics.
>my car
>a classic
When buying a new one is cheaper than maintaining your current one
Maybe one day. I lust after old Daihatsus that don't exist now because people saw them as junk.
what car?
>I'm at 165k with no issues atm and just trying to plan...
It really depends. If this is an older toyota you have 250-300k lifespan. If its a jaguar it should have died 100k miles ago
Mazda
>low milage
>good
Cars are meant to be driven. Ofcourse not driven like most of us that redline it every day
But if you drive it "normal" and keep it maintained it's 100x better than garaging a car with 0 miles and little to no maintenance.
which mazda? what year?
you tryna dox bruh?
im at 204k with a 2003 avalon, and so far no major work needed
Why did you start the thread with such an ugly beast
Also miles has never once been a considering factor for me wanting a new car. I normally want a new car because I'm bored of my last one, or want more power / comfort / luxury.
I will never replace my Truck, and when it dies I'll just swap the engine. When the frame rots I'll get a new frame, etc.
Naturally. I wouldn't buy a 20-30 year old car with less than 100,000 Kilometres on the Odo.
I have an '07 Altima that has 130K miles. And, I'm looking to get something else. The car runs great. But, I'm bored with it, and my finances are all set. So, fuck it, I'm going for it.
>Is your car in good condition?
>Do you like your car?
>Do you want another car?
>How are you, financially?
Answer those questions, and a plan will come to you.
srsly OP don't assault my boner like that
200k is usually my oh shit limit... And 200k or over really drops the cars value.. 199,998 is worth more than 200,000.01 miles... I think the worst i've had is 185k on a vehicle. I never am in a good position to buy a vehicle when I need to, so I end up with a shitbox that has too much wrong with it to be worth while.. I typically am forced to buy and ride it out until they're not drivable
>I lust after washing machines
Utterly embarrassing.
>OP posts wife on accident
>is probably shitting himself over posting a total hambeast
I forgot to mention, the majority of my vehicles have been just shitboxes...
91 ranger (actually loved it) 175k
96 Escort (total piece of shit, literally fell apart on a lift) 160k
86 Seville ( asshole ran regular through it and motor was slow as piss. also would randomly not turn on for no reason) 160k
00 Geo Metro (subframe was rusty and rotted out, actually liked the 3 cyl motor, very fuel efficient) 130k
00 taurus (blew wheel bearings like crazy, slow shit vulcan motor 115k
96 gmc 2500 (still ran, but needed cam kit, suspension rebuild, bald tires, and had no muffler) 150k
The last two vehicles i was fortunately in a better place to get something a little better, my old lincoln i gave to my dad but the timing chain blew out, ended up paying to have motor replaced (Never done it, don't have the time, or the space to attempt it myself) 165k
When reliability and cost of maintenance start becoming problems.
Of course, this will be different for everyone. Acceptable costs for one person might be excessive for someone else.
EXTRA THICC
They're not the only cars I like.
married 8 years, her boyfriend took this pic
bump for more thiccness
I get tired of suspension and bushing wear around 160-180k. Feels like I'm always chasing after worn components and never reach a point where the car feels like it did in its prime. Granted, I barrel down mountain passes in it after work to keep my rotting retard brain alive for one more day, and the car's not worth a total restoration because it's a fucking ten year old Civic.
