Bump, which one's better.

Civic in OP or this 124k miles '02 Accord which is also cheaper?

losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/cto/d/2002-honda-accord-lx-low/6282519372.html

>14 year old hybrid with 197k miles

maybe im wrong but this sounds like a terrible idea

Dad thought so too, should I maybe rule this one out?

Id seriously be worried about that one.. I'd give it a pass for a non 14 year old hybrid. The batteries in those things are ridiculous to replace. There was a ring a while back where people were breaking into hybrids (specifically the prius) and stealing the battery and wiring harness. It literally totals the car in value, might as well have been set on fire or thrown in a river.

This is the shittiest generation of civic. The 3K civic is literally for 99 and under.

I heard you talking shit about independent rear suspension.
It's the last of the decent civics if you ask me. Between 1-7, 7 is the worst (stock) out of them, but it's really not bad in itself, especially compared to newer generations. It was the last of the 'light' civics. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it has the potential to out-turn the 6th gens with a good suspension system, only because of the IRS, and stiff chassis.

Shittiest Civic gen is the second to last one, 2012-2015.

This

>ask owner for VIN on their '03 civic
>they say they'll get back to me with it
>haven't heard back in 2 hours
shit, I hate california

I have a friend who restores classic jags. Talk me out of buying this as a first car and suggest a better vehicle. I'm poorfag as shit but I just can't stand the bus anymore.

Forgot link

worcester.craigslist.org/ctd/d/1988-jaquar-xjs-v12-1/6290347047.html

VIN says it's clean and never been in an accident.

that is literally and I mean literally in the actual literal sense, is literally the worst idea I have ever seen anyone come up with on Veeky Forums

I have an 03 LX 5 speed. Very slow, but very reliable. Can be fun to fling around corners if you put an RSX rear swaybar on it

>suggest a better vehicle
I have no idea what to get so I picked the cheapest quality RWD vehicle around. Only qualifier is this: no Subarus.

Any of these a good idea? What kind of offers should I make on them?

Are you an actual madman?

Yes, only because this guy literally has five projects right now and would help me with it. I know it is beyond pants on head retarded and I was 30% baiting for (you)s as I need vehicle suggestions as none of the vehicles in the sticky can be found for under 6k near me.

nh.craigslist.org/cto/d/1974-vw-beetle-for-parts-or/6305113483.html
I'm half tempted to pick this up as a DD and weld a new floor in and use it. Partially since beatles are cool and because I can't find anything decent here.

>car I want is about 1hr 45min away from me
>friends can't be bothered to give me a ride even though I do favors for them all the time
>want to buy it before it's sold

Has anyone ever been in a similar situation? I can't take my own car since I won't be able to drive two cars back. How can I go about this?

Then travel away from yourself until you find something worth owning and drive it back.

Also go ahead and drive FWD if you're going to be a poorfag about things, that jag would die within the year and would more likely go to a scrap yard than your friend who has unlimited time and energy to throw at other people's cars.

>automatic
nope.

this is.

I have no intent on doing it, but I'd be lying if a wasn't tempted to buy it and DD it.

Lexus is good, 4runner is too good to real.

Check this one out.

washingtondc.craigslist.org/mld/cto/d/runs-great-needs-paint-obo/6274422039.html

Are you a lesbian? Only butch lesbians drive xterras.

Get a $5k 8th gen Civic instead. They're at the perfect point of price vs mileage right now.

gud taste m8

>5k

What do you think of this one? 3k, stick shift. High mileage tho.

losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/d/2006-honda-civic-lx/6301397881.html

Thoughts on this one? It looks good.

losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/cto/d/2001-honda-accord/6303738721.html

Don't but a 7th gen, I own one and they're slow as fuck. Plus this gen has a habit of blowing head gaskets and transmissions, if you find one of these cheap get an 04 or 05 since they had less problems.

Hard to tell. Worth a test drive if you know what to look for, but I wouldn't go over 120-140k personally unless I could see a history of repairs and part replacements. Check 8th gen civic forums for more specific information.

Don't buy any Honda older than ~2006 with an automatic transmission, they are dogshit and tend to fail horribly every 100k miles. The manuals are rock solid though.

Yeah shit tier, unless they have receipts for repairs done properly at suggested intervals.

Cute little guy, I'd buy it

>Civic hybrid
>15 years old
>197000 miles
m8, the battery is probably done for. Replacing it is super expensive.
Just get the regular version. Probably cheaper too

Don't get Hondas becayse their transmissions go after 200k, get a Camry, the transmission will last 500k. Search for 99 Toyota Camry, they cost like 1k. Invest your money and in 5-10 years buy a 60k car.

Money now is worth more than money later, so keep that money now.

Old Honda trick as a cheap way to aid cooling.

this is what poor people actually believe.
>you will never be this poor and stupid
feels good man

My Civic's been getting uncomfortably high temp, might do this in a bit

I want to buy it in the case of it actually being a 680HP devil car.

The hybrid civic is shit avoid it, you or the previous owner will fuck the transmission

nh.craigslist.org/cto/d/mazda-rx7-gtu/6305722481.html
I need to get off craigslist because one of these days my inner madman is gonna buy some old pos rotary.

Then replace the thermostat, or it could be your radiator.

Black owner? I wouldn't buy it

Pero yo lo entendi, se ve chido la nave guey.

Do you have money for 16mpg with premium gas?

Yeah.

Also, Hispanics are better than blacks when it comes to selling cars.

Indeed they are, but I wouldn't go with either when it comes to SUVs.

I'd say go for the 4th generation GLE model or SE. They have better handling, are lighter, and share the same platform as 5th gen.

Or if you want the 3.5L, you can get the 2003 model with hid headlights. Those are the best options.
>1994 maxima SE/GLE
>1999 maxima SE/GLE
>2003 maxima SE/GLE

>Those are the best options.
if you like transmission problems.

I had a 4th gen and the transmission held up to 240k miles then it started slipping but went past 300k. And also the maxima in the criaglist posting looks kinda ricey.

shit, do it man

I have no job or vehicle that I can actually use as reliable transportation that I can legally drive.
I do have a taurus that I have to get rid of due to rust and my mom could drive me to work, but I don't think a 25+ year old automatic rotary engine is a great idea.

However hypothetically speaking, I would be interested in what goes into an auto to manual rotary swap.

Paint's a little shitty but otherwise, it looks to be in quite decent shape.

>worrying about someone doing you a favor and putting you out of your misery
just buy the car and enjoy it lol

Thermostat is fine, I think. I do plan on changing rad fluid soon, I might put it off 'till then.

What's the catch? This thing seems too good to be true. Think there's a nest of snakes in the glove compartment?

Is this 4k asking price the definition of "I know what I got?"

>What's the catch

It's a Saab, parts availability is getting rarer.

This too.

the catch is that saabs are fucking lemons

What's wrong with the last one? They seem alright to me, and my brother's 07 is pretty good.

It's a Saab.

2015-Present Civics are decent, but pigfat, like the Accord Crosstour.

2005-2011 Civics are great.

nh.craigslist.org/cto/d/1984-ford-ranger/6306378390.html
I need something cheap to get around and it would need to pass inspection.
Would this be decent if a put some new brakelines in and weld the floor up?

>title status: missing

I thought Saabs were reliable and tough

I dunno, here it's something like 25 years or older you can just go to the dmv with a bill of sale and they'll give you a new one.

Very far from it.

Another Saab story.

Talk me out of this one b/o/zos.

denver.craigslist.org/cto/d/2003-vw-gti/6305850927.html

As long as it's not auto, you are golden with Volvos from Ford era.

Bus
Or pay them in gas/food. If they reject that it's because they don't like you.

It's tennesee, I have to dodge lifted trucks on a daily basis.
