Some one here on Veeky Forums ever had an 180/200sx s13? I saved enough money for a weekend project and I thought about buying one. Problem is there is no chance to testdrive on in my area. They are pretty rare in Germany. Maybe some user can share his experience.
S13
The CAs blow their head gaskets really easilly. Invest in an S13 with an SR swap or don't up the boost on the CA too much. Also like Nissans do, they're prone to rush and S13s are more fragile than you would think.
I checked the specific issues thanks. Can you tell me something about the driving? My last project was an 325i E36 which I turned in to a trackcar. Since the Nissan is RWD and lighter it should be pretty good or am I wrong?
>track car
in that case do everyone a favor and buy an already modded one, they are more common anyway
I wouldn't turn the 200xs in to a trackcar. More in to my weekend car for pure driving enjoyment in the mountain roads. I'm not going to rice this car.
ok, that's cool
Good aesthetic but somewhat rare and expensive for the actual capabilities of them.
I pretty much like the potential more then the looks.
>1200kg (2600lb)
>2 door rwd
>turbocharged
This might be a stupid question, but I'm in the market for one or the other:
Is there a reason to prefer an S13 over an R32 GTS-T performance-wise? They both cost about the same these days.
The S13's lighter and has better weight distribution but that's about it.
Here in Germany 90% of all R32 are RHD and pretty expensive. Also the S13 looks more like an "sportscar" to me. I think it's just a thing of personal taste.
I was pretty certain that all R32s are RHD, unless you've seen a converted one.
R32 GTS-T will be infinitely better than an S-Chassis. Plus, looks better than some beat to shit S13 anyways. If they're the same price and you can find one that has been well taken care of you should get the R32 instead.
240 user here. its very fun
ask me questions I have owned this car for 2 or so years I know my way around 240s
I love my 240, if you can find one that's been properly maintained for a decent price I'd say go for it. But just be aware that they feel like driving a wet noodle unless you get coils, upgrade the suspension arms, and replace most if not all of the bushings.
what coils are you running? I'm thinking about going all out for some hks hipersports someday.
Not him but here's my question, how the fuck did you find one that looks like it hasn't been ravaged by time, and/or fuckbois?
Just the cheap isr pro coils. The rides pretty good just a little stiff. But you cant beat the value they improved the handling 10 fold and come with a decent warranty and I have all isr suspension arms and extended tien tie rods which makes the steering feel more direct
I got really lucky with mine. I bought it from a guy whos dad was the original owner and he needed the money asap. I got it for $3800 in the SF bay area where salvage 240s with mismatched panels go for $4500
oh my god those wheels are hideous
Well that's surprising for me. I thought they had a better chassis, more like a Miata.
jfc thats ugly as shit
Miata has a wet noodle chassis bone stock. What are you talking about. 90's japanese cars for the most part are known for their aftermarket.
Not the car in its stock form.
Just be patient and youll find one, i found this on craigslist 10 minutes old and called the owner and had him take the ad down in an hour
Those sideskirts are gorgeous, those are OEM chuki sideskirts right?
Those would be the oem type x side skirts so technically kouki. Chuki is the first gen s13 with the pignose, and the zenki would be the sharknose. Only the kouki came with side skirts, rear valence, spoiler, and type x front bumper
My bad replace zenki and chuki
Zen-ki (前期) Before (early) period.
Chu-ki (中期) Middle period.
Kou-ki (後期) After (latter) period
I drove both NA and NB and they drove around corners like they had fucking glue on tires. I call that bullshit.
...
It was listed for like 2k on an importer website.
If it wasn't an auto I would have been all over that shit but I thought it looked strikingly good for how cheap it was listed. The interior was clean as fuck as well
People who ordered cars like this with automatic transmission should get gased
it's not that bad without the caps right?
Jesus christ man get some better tires. Fucking 620 tread wear rating? Can you even turn and stop, or is it like driving on ice all the time?
You can do better user.
Bump for interest.
Funny that Veeky Forums shitposts or worship this car all the time but no one seems to owne one and can give a proper review.
