The fifth gen Si hatch was the heaviest trim of that gen and was still SOHC. That's the worst I can think of. The Si has been consistently good for every generation I think.

There's only a couple more Hondas I can look at that's within my price range and they're CMs. If those aren't any good, I'll look at a Camry and if that's no good, I'll have to start looking at Smart cars.

Anyone have any experience with aftermarket S2K hardtops?
Those CMs can be a good buy, just make sure they don't have too many electrical problems. it's a rabbit hole if your radio doesn't work, because the climate control is on it.

Valve cover gasket changed. Oil is still slick with no sludge and the mating surface was relatively smooth bar the scratches at the left side. As Shingu suggested I added Hondabond which I believe helped.
Cleaned off the lower portion where oil was leaking and when closed and engine run, showed no signs of leaking oil. Mission comprete.
Neverfuckingmind, I can't afford full coverage insurance because of a fucking tree.
My policy for the CM5 was $220.

Also, Scotty's trick of silicon lube on the windows is real, just make sure to wipe the drain holes where all the crap comes out.

I use the factory one. I had a metal one but it started looking tacky and it was really hot in the summer and really cold in the winter. I think i might change my oem civic with my oem supra one if it fits since i have a ratchet shifter in my supra
I recommend an oem style or from another Honda.

Ball knobs are great. Feel much better than the stock one to me. Shifts feel more precise.

Yeah it's all resolved, the accident happened on July 10th, I another identical CM5 with a slightly worse interior that has a rattle, the radio won't work, but it runs perfect and the body is hasn't been crashed a million times, just hasa repaired rear left quarter and bumper cover from a 2006 accident but that's it.
I'll never be happy but i can at least get to work.
