At least you didn't fall for the RWD meme.

what did you expect

if you want a fast race car to hit le epic toga in buy a wrx sti

its just a impreza with a turbo

i find it comfortable and practical and love the ground clearance + soft springs it has

I want to get one. Why is it a meme? Why shouldn't I? I don't want to be a boy racer.

>tfw no one ever falls for the TT legacy meme
feels good knowing those cars are kept out of the hands of boiracer faggot 17 year olds.

>fell for the used subaru from a dealership meme

>understeer
>new ones look like dogshit.
>old ones are modded to hell and back
>people think their highly modded 2006 wrx is worth 20k because it makes 300kw at the wheels and has had 25k spent on it
>driven by vapers, lesbians, and chavs

t. i dunno

oldsmosbile internet defense meme?
fiat thing?
where is toyota on shutting down the russian interbots!

lol here in canada only rice teens drive those as they are $4-6k imported. Blown engines everywhere due to our shitty gas and aggressive jdm toonz

rice teens and boiracers are basically the same thing.

Yeah that's what I mean. All the new generation WRX's = older men and moms. JDM legacy B4, wagons, GC8 = 17 year olds with stickers all over the cars.

It makes sense though. AWD turbo cars for well under 10k means more kids driving them.

>mfw i found my 2005 9-2x aero for $4000
>bone stock, manual, 100k miles
>previous owner was a middle aged engineer
>only had to change a axle due to a split boot (drove like that for 4 months), valve cover gaskets, and ac compressor o-rings

get good

>first car was a bugeye wrx
>parents bought for me
>worked minimum wage tier jobs to pay for gas
>loved the shit out of that car, many coming of age experiences had
>needed to move in college and sold car to get a more economical commuter
>fast forward to now, married, job, kid, house
>wife and I both have great careers, make lots of money
>drive new bmw, hits a certain spot
>still think about the bugeye
>fantasize about the time in highschool I took a girl for a crazy fast ride and made her panties wet
>or the time I did donuts in the elementary school dirt soccer field
>or smoking blunts and drinking brew in my car (yes I know how stupid)
>or fucking chicks in the back seat
>sleeping in the back on road trips or after late nights because wagon
>installing a loud exhaust thst annoyed my neighbors but sounded amazing
>camping in the woods and "rallying" on service access roads for fun
>coastig my car without the engine on, to sneak out at night and go to my girlfriends house

Can anyone relate at all? I feel so alone because no one else I know has these feels. Thinking about picking up an old WRX but really hard to justify other than nostalgia.

>Can anyone relate at all? I feel so alone because no one else I know has these feels.

I have all the similar type teenage memories about my first car, just wasn't a WRX. 89 GMC pick up doesn't make anyone's panties wet. Still got laid in it though.

I would get a subaru just not 2000s one

I've had my 04 wrx throughout my entire time in university. Similar experiences are had and i fukin loved every moment of it.

The back seats are comfy as fuck for sure. The 04's were even more comfy than the bugeye ones. I never get tired of the rumble and while it only has 200whp it is still a blast to drive. I'm stage 2 on coilovers and stuff so the car feels tight as hell. I've driven many newer WRX's and STIs but theres something about the GD generation.

Good times struggling to get the 5 speed into reverse, the leaking passenger valve cover gasket that made my whole cabin smell like oil at times, the rattling side windows, the sexy 4 spoke momo wheel that had an easy to dent centercap, the awesome pop out cup holder, turning on the fog lights whenever I can because rally car, feeling like a god in winter time, wishing I had a gear in between 3 and 4, always trying to defog the mirrors after some quick action in the back, waving to other subies and getting pissed at the people that drive a wrx/sti but dont wave back

I'm sure you remember some of these.

how well payin' are we talking?

Nothing bad about the new WRXs, the only con I see to it is having higher insurance payments

Yes, that momo wheel actually for a lot of complements. Forgot about the sweet pop out cup holder. I loved driving around on snow days like a champ while other peiple were were struggling. And almost always had my fog lights on.

Wife is MD, I work in tech and do investments so we are pretty cozy. The thing that helped the most was avoiding debt as much as possible and keeping expenses low.

Damn this post bums me out.

if you want a quick, cheap awd car buy a B5 A4 2.8l 30v
you'll thank me later

>fell for the modded car meme

$15k never coming back and car is uncomfortable to drive

It's too bad about the insurance. I had some downtime with a salseman at a Jeep etc. place the other month and we got to talking about insurance. He said the WRX (even more the STI) was about the highest insurance of anything he'd ever sold.

It's obvious why, but I look at it like saying we have a big class of youth thirsting for cheap fun cars that maybe aren't quite as easy to get in to trouble with.
