Thought I'd post my co-workers glorious mustang story to share.

>bought a warranty, just to be safe
>sure enough, few years later, cam issues
>sends it into ford, replaces cams
>some time later, cams bust again
>sends it into ford, replaces cams
>various suspension parts are busted
>sends it into ford, new suspension components
>transmission syncros are struggling
>sends it in to ford, turns out all syncros are bad, plus some kind of recall
>replaces the entire transmission
>gee whiz, I bet you can't guess what happened next
>cams
>send it into ford, they finally get the foresight to think "maybe something is causing the cams to die"
>figure its probably cheaper to replace the entire engine at this point
>so they do
>buddy gets a brand new 4.6 with all brand new ford racing internals
>short time after that, guy side swipes him
>gets $3k from their insurance since he had a dashcam
>entire car repainted
At this point, he's sitting on an 07 GT with a brand new engine, brand new transmission, brand new suspension, and fresh paint job

>guy comes up and talks to him about his GT
>offers to buy it, cash, 14.5k
>buddy only has $1k left on his finance, takes him up on it
>Hes now on the prowl for a 5.0
Pic related, not his stang but looked exactly like that. I wish I could upgrade to a newer, better version of my car simply because things kept breaking. I'm still stuck with my FWD shitbox, but I'm happy for him all the same.

Just curious, what's the price range for a gen 1 V8 small block in the US?
Here in Europe it's about 25k for a good condition hardtop and 40k+ for a fastback.
