The sad part is that SK2 did in fact reference how there was the possibility of the Eldritch existing. Orochi is commonly seen in Japanese plays as an evil creature of Eldritch levels, although it's not as vile or downright asshole-ish as someone like Nyarlathotep.

Not to mention Nyarlathotep's design is so simple yet downright terrifying. Supposedly just being in his presence causes some sort of ultimate fear and/or insanity.
