Expansion hype go

pistols are useful

First for SamBC is a faggot

too bad he has no mobility
I like how Jake decided the best thing to do with the new Outsider variant was to make it a naked gyrating hot chick

Infinite Warfare ports when

...

15 is average

We at least need to smash /civ4xg/

I would not mind this.

interdasting

I do like the fact that you need LOS on individual body parts. And I think I like the action system. Certainly the movement part, not so sure about the willpower part.

...

Not at home atm, what's the willpower thing? Like will in XCOM?

It's a resource that is expended to use soldier abilities. Running out of willpower still panics soldiers. Killing stuff gives willpower, getting hit can lose hit, people dying will lose it.

Can't believe they didn't link to the fig campaign and called it a "post WWII setting." Absolutely terrible, IGN dropped the ball incredibly hard with this.

Not to mention how bored the guy playing sounded.

Hey lads, haven't played in almost a year, but had an overwhelming desire to feel XCom EW's atmosphere again, so I fired up an old save.

I seem to recall something about waiting until after a certain rank to turn a troop into a MEC troop. Something about leveling up faster, r getting more skills, or something.

Can anyone remind me why you should (or shouldn't) put a troop under the knife ASAP?

Aim progression. Heavies get bad aim per level, so after their like first two ranks, it's actually better to have them level as MECs. Other classes have better aim progression, and thus will have better aim if you chop them later.

In EW, MECs have bad stat growth and retain their non-will stats. So a highrank sniper turned mec will have better stats than a naturally trained MEC.

In LW it's a lot more complicated

Ah that's right. I think the general rule of thumb was to wait for Heavies to be Lieutenant rank before making the switch.

>In LW it's a lot more complicated
I'm just playing standard EW luckily.

Oh, also, is there a way to check whether I have the new missions (Deluge and ...Portent?) active on the current game? I haven't researched the Outsider Shard yet, but don't have either of the new characters in my Barracks. Don't know when those missions come up.

Has anyone modded MECs into XCOM2 yet?
That fucking punch was the best shit

They're DLC, shen's last gift adds them. Unless you meant literal mecs from EW as in chopped up dudes, in which case no.

Should I use the LW2 psi-class mod or does it suck? What are the differences between LW and vanilla Psi besides needing promotions?

You can't train all the perks, so you can get fucked by rng in LW

How do I git gud at LW2? I consistently stop after the fourth month because enemies are too numerous and too upgraded for anyone but my A-team to handle

Could be that you are falling behind on the arms race. What's your situation generally at the end of four months? I'm talking research, quality of troops, and how many weapons you have.

I usually have Advanced Magnetics and Predator armor researched, with mag weapons for Rangers and Snipers while the rest have lasers. I'm thinking that not getting enough Alloys to upgrade everyone to Mags is a big reason, since by the time the enemies have +2HP and +Armor lasers aren't worth shit

What about your grenade game?

Never have enough alloys stockpiled to research Plasma Grenades or build more of them, for that matter

Plasma nades are pretty game changer, but obviously that doesn't mean much if you are alloy starved.
I'm not sure if I can really help. I'm in month 3 of my current campaign, so maybe I'll report back if I learn something useful.

Is it even worth sitting on rooftops farming free enemy kills whenever there's going to be a few rounds between reinforcements?

Yes you can.

REMOVE

Dunno if LW2 allows it by default but if you have a mod that lets soldiers get multiple levels in a mission then yeah, probably.

i am ready

Does Exalt have an equivalent to Central Officer John Bradford?

i like to think they do
they seem to have an equivalent to the commander

You can also spend it to get an extra action during a turn. It's pretty versatile, it's like Willpower in WoD, not that I expect anyone here to play tabletop, but still.

Brad Johnford. Looks the same but has a mustache.

...

>tfw want to play Xcom2 but the geoscape lags like crazy and you've been removing mods for an hour but it doesn't go away and you just want to play videogames but everything sucks and you just want to die

go clear your crash log folder in my games and re-validate your game, it may help

It didn't, i might have to start fresh only to play the game for a couple of days before stopping for months again.

This is my life now, this is the curse of every game with mods.

>install Long War 2
>play for three hours
>uninstall and go back to vanilla
I just don't like it, boys.

its not for everyone user, you do you

I felt the same way about the original Long War, I got frustrated and just console commanded my way to beat it.

have you checked for conflicts?
have you cleaned your config folder?

Yes.

Figured it out, apparently i was still subscribed to the LW alien pack even though i was using LW2. Don't know how i missed that all 27 times that i went through my mod list but that's what it was.

...

Looks good but that guy who was playing was an idiot.
Maybe he did so many bad moves so he can show off the game more, but it was stll painful to watch.

Will the final game have character customisation and leveling or just nameless grunts like the demo?
I think one of the best part of XCOM that you are able to make custom soldiers who you can get attached. My most memorable moments are when some rookie triumphs against all odds and becomes one of my best soldier or when my favourite soldiers gets killed in acton.

...

Hey /xcg/ it's the Xcomfiles user again, posting up the newest episode of my series for any anons who want to give it a watch.

Now I'm finished shilling myself, does anyone have any new information on the coming Xcom2 DLC/Expansion yet? Or are we still waiting for the E3 reveal?

this damn mod doesn't work that well for me

Mod?

nvm found it

NO GUARANTEE

WHICH OF THEM WILL SUCCEED

STRONG OR WEAK?

No news, still waiting on E3.

steamdb.info/app/268500/history/ The depot remains very active though. (Of note is reference to a ModLauncherWPF.exe)

What's up /xcg/? It's been a while.

U-Uncle Gunman

Pls what can I do to motivate you to port the MWR tracksuit

S-Siege stuff!

More Titanfall stuff when?

I started on this, but the legs were giving me grief so I didn't finish it. Also the guy porting titanfall 2 assets got told to stop by EA which is a shame.

If you can find the tracksuit files somewhere, I'll give it a go.

Wait how did you get the files to the other MWR assets then?

>he guy porting titanfall 2 assets got told to stop by EA which is a shame.
Would ya look at that, another fucking reason to hate EA.

Why did you play on Beginner difficulty?

Because my own playthrough hadn't gotten very far and I was doing it for fun.

Not every run has to be Impossible/Ironman y'know

Which config folder should I delete, the one in my games or the one in steam?

Ninja Nub and E3245 had already extracted them.

Oh I see...

...

>>More Titanfall stuff,

OH YEA-

>>Also the guy porting titanfall 2 assets got told to stop by EA

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

...

I love the ragdolls in these games

Sectoids occasionally collapse like a sack of potatoes and I laugh every time

I wish I were recording that fucking mission man, 2 shinobi/2 technical vs 19 alien scum. I got as close as I could to the building housing the relay, started lighting up rockets and flamethrowers, dodged like 10 alien rifle shots and only lost one guy because a viper grabbed him, but it was damned worth it to counter a dark event.

only save scummed once...
Really wish I could have gotten everyone out.

...

>Phoenix Point video

I like that you have the option of using your 2 moves in portions. Means that if you have enough range, you can run up to a corner to spot ayys, then reposition out of LOS or step over to another piece of cover if you find you'll have a flank or better position.

I also just generally like how the art assets are looking. That oilrig tileset is just plain creepy, can't wait to see other environments and alien types.

>Looks good but that guy who was playing was an idiot.
That was Julian Gallop kek, am I missing a joke?

>Maybe he did so many bad moves so he can show off the game more
It was pretty obvious. The guy knows exactly what the demo consists of. He purposefully teased at all the bosses attacks. He didn't run the first guy directly under it for no reason, he just wanted to show the stomp attack.

Download shorter recovery times asap.

If you're playing long war 2 its a must have.

My AWC/GTC are about to come online,

>literal cheat mods
user NO

>36 days is acceptable

No

yes

u a little bitch

Don't even play long war then

Gonna have to admit, beyond extreme surgery which would make most people unconscious/comatose during a mission, bones breaking, guts spilling, lethal injurys and such - the Xcom 2 resistance in the way of on-site medical care beyond drones with "healing" (read - analgesic) sprays.

Therefore most troopers should either be getting grazing (non lethal) wounds, or killed on the spot.

>Therefore -

36 days in the infirmary is bullshit. End of.

Mag weapons are basically handheld railguns, and railguns have this slight tenancy to wreck shit, and plasma weapons should leave the type of wounds you need a 3 foot concrete block to fill.

How many regions have you liberated? Contacted? Are you constantly doing missions and setting havens on Intel?

How many troops are you sending on G. Ops?

>bring a realism argument to a discussion about game mechanics and balance
SAD

how about it's a fucking video game where you kill aliens and there would be no meaningful penalty for taking wounds if it worked that way

>In a game where people want to bring in realistic models, camo and operators.

>People want realistic wound timers and end results.

. . .

>but also bitch about it being a game

Who is sad now broseph?

Ain't me.

way to go knocking down that straw man

>how about it's a fucking video game where you kill aliens and there would be no meaningful penalty for taking wounds if it worked that way

How about people being killed in droves by glancing hits?

The way OG Xcom worked?

>They changed it, now it sucks!
mash that enter key like the neanderthal you are

>lists things that don't affect gameplay
trolling, dumb, or someones just a grumpy pants today :^)
