If Unleashed replaced the werehog with Knuckles and was Sonic and Knuckles 3D it would have been amazing. I would have stomached the mandatory slow as fuck boring locked off brawler sections had they let me be knux and smash dudes about. What hurt the hog?
Unleashed, to me, was the last game that felt organic and cinematic compared to current titles. I understand how Colors and Adventure have more unique atmospheres, but Colors suffers from cringey dialogue and blocky platforming while Adventure suffers from just being old and outdated, and nostalgia is the only concrete reason I can see anyone liking them more.

It's also the fact that the Adventure games and Colors had a consistent framerate and no tedious collectibles, while the Adventure games were extremely impressive at the time and featured a story that influenced the levels, rather than the levels only being a backdrop, and Colors had a single/consistent gameplay style with optional augments.Nostalgia is a factor, but the games are still better than Unleashed in terms of gameplay.

Sonic the Hedgehog: Awakening starring Silver's old VA and named after Sonic 06. I doubt it, since 06 was designed with realism in mind, and if it really was a Silver-oriented prequel, as the name "Awakening" seemed to imply, it would have to take place in Silvr's future, which was really advanced. In addition, Sonic 06's realism was going to be the new direction for the series until 06 bombed, so it was probably a separate game cancelled by Sega.
