Can you rank down?
Because if not, you're going to keep ranking up if you win, get nothing if you lose, and if you win 1 lose 1 you never get win streaks and eventually get to a point you can't win anymore and are locked out of the mode.

On that note, what kinda sticks are you guys using? Back when I was going hard in fighting games I absolutely loved Mad Catz TEs, and I feel like ever since they switched to making fightsticks the quality has not gone down at all. I hear good things about the TE2, but its expensive as fuck, is it really worth the over 200$ price point?

How about HRAP? Any of you guys have experience with the Hori brand? Or does anyone have any promo codes for sticks or something?

i have a sfiv te fightstick that i bought like 7 years ago that i use for anything i need it for on pc (including tekken 7 recently) and it's still going strong

i have a hrap kai 4 that i've only used for ps4 shmups up until now, but i've been too lazy to move it over to my computer to try it for tekken. the hayabusa stick feels really nice when i've used it, so i imagine it's gonna be just fine. the sfiv te stick is really easy to part swap (though i haven't had to yet), but i haven't really looked at how easy the hrap kai is to take apart.

Oh, I didn't know it was getting updated, I'm not a huge SF player desu but that sounds nice even tho a friend of mine who does play SF told me that Akuma plays more like Ultra IV than like SFV but idk what to tell you

Yeah, Tekken Akuma is SF4 Akuma.
Focus attack is one of the exclusive mechanics of SF4.
Canceling moves with it to make them safer or extend combos is something that is only possible with SF4 Akuma

I have a bad habit of pressing the dpad too hard when I haven't played a charge character for awhile, and it makes my thumb sore. Try to relax and not mash or press hard when you're practicing because that'll get stored as muscle memory and it's more annoying undoing that bad habit. There's the buffer to consider too

Steve player here.. Steve has to play a lot more defensively in T7. f21 shutout game is a lot weaker, your gameplay is much more reactionary and bait out CHs and block punishes.

The Steve wasn't playing terribly, he did a few things off I would have done differently, namely not getting hit by the unblockable, but he played fine for the most part.

If you haven't found a main, try them out on practice. Don't try to focus too much on combos at first. Focus more on your movement. Look at the top 15 moves for the characters you want to play and if you decide on a main, search her/his thread for tips for combos, moves, etc.
As for notation, there is probably something in the op detailing what everything means. I'm a new player as well so you're not alone.
