Watching your parents die

Grinding second in a stoplight grand prix and having to wait for your rpms to fall back down to be able to put in in gear and start going again

that's subjective

>in a stoplight grand prix
what did he mean by this?

Contest of acceleration with someone else when the light turns green

>Tfw still haven't mastered first gear
Not winning those contests.

>when the clutch is all the way down and you shift into the next gear but not even hard and you hear a grind

>when you go over a speed bump or pothole too fast
>CRNNNNCRCHHHHHHH

>start car
>clutch in
>wait a second
>shift into reverse
>grinding noise

WHY

Lets stick to automotive feels, ok pal?

Owning an Auto,

Reverse does tend to crunch in a bit on a lot of cars, nothing to worry about. Double clutching can reduce it.

I'll try that. It just bugs me that it's inconsistent, maybe 1/5 times it'll grind but most of the time I can shift straight in from a cold start.

And then occasionally it just flatout locks me out of the gear because it thinks I'm moving.

Put the gear selector in place more gently, helped me.

When you chip away a little bit of rust, and it turns out to be a fuckload of rust.

>grinding a gear
babby tier feels
money shifting is where the real shifting feel is at

First time getting a false neutral on a bike
>upshifting into 2nd
>smooth sailing
>""""upshift"""" into 3rd
>let out clutch and give it some throttle
>bike feels dead, jet taking off sound
>freak out trying to figure out wtf happened
>reattempt to put it in 3rd as a guess
>didn't blip throttle
>KRRGEGGEGGRGSGSGSGGQQ
>truly horrendous moise coming from the gearbox
>go home at a limp, scared to have rekt the bike
>find out what's a false neutral
Pants were shat because of that noise man

>Is there a worst feel?

Easily.
>shift into gear, seems to go in fine
>let off clutch
>SHRRRRRRKKKKKKK because the fucker decided it wasn't in gear all the way

Use first to stop this.
>clutch in, first gear, reverse
It just happens because reverse isn't synchronized.

...

so what is a false neutral? never had a problem like that when i rode my xr80

Tl;dr the shifting selector thingies can end up between two gears. This basically seems like a neutral because no gear is engaged. Some bikes have larger clearances between the gears and selectors than others. A false neutral beats selecting two gears at once and grenading the engine

Missing the switch between high and low gears is a split transmission coasting down a hill or travelling up a steep one.

Enjoy your panicked stabbing the throttle working the clutch and trying to get your rear axle to match your driveshaft speed again as it sounds like you are grenading your entire rear end.

And the worse feel? Following someone else driving your truck and hearing them play that game.

>tfw cruising along at 70+ on the highway
>crest hill and suddenly all you see is taillights and stopped cars
>and you are 4 miles from the closest exit
RIP, clutch.

>sequential gears
>can select two gears at once

what the FUCK did they mean by this

>always put on reverse or first gear when parking depending which one I will be using to leave
>in this case put it on reverse
>come back to the car in like four hours after being in the city
>start
>start to leave the spot
>car tries to move forwards and stalls

fucker was in Reverse up top but actually had 4th engaged. Fuck this nissan has an awful tranny

nissan what?

Almera N16

ah i have a 2013 sentra

yesterday I came home super tired and instead of turning the car off I accidentally hit the starter again. luckily it only ground for like a quarter second before engaging.

>doing it in a crowded parking lot

jdimsa

Yes, yes there is.

i-it's just a/c user.

Neither of these are too bad but I'm still mad.

>car won't start one day
>check battery
>no corrosion, connections look good
>reconnect it, still won't start
>spend entire next day trying to remove starter outside while it's raining
>too weak to get the last bolt
>go buy breaker bar, finally get the last bolt
>pull out original starter on 215k mi car and go get it tested
>"it's good sir"
>what
>go home and mess with the battery again
>turns out terminal is worn out and feels tight but really isn't
>buy new terminal, starts perfect

And yesterday
>replace beat to shit air filter
>turn on car
>check engine light
>"oh maybe it's just not used to a good filter"
>drive to advance auto to get it diagnosed
>code comes up for bad catalytic converter

I'm about to try to find someone in a non-emissions county so I don't have to fuck with this

"It was in reverse and had fourth engaged, this car is so shit"

Yeeeeah, I'm gonna call bullshit on this one. ID 10 T error here.
Good to see your so insecure you do mental gymnastics and claim idiotic things rather than accept that maybe you didn't push the gearshift over far enough.

The tranny was wherever you put it, fuckstick.

>2nd to 3rd always jerks no matter how much I baby the clutch
>3rd to 4th with no clutch and no grinding
??????????

>At autox, last run of the day
>Shift to 2nd mid-straightaway
>Get back on the gas
>Revs freely
>oshit.jpg
>Can't move shift lever

there is a worse feel, and it's grenading your transmission. I still don't know what happened though, there was no sound or anything

Is the trans actually shit or did the linkages break? Last time I had a shift cable snap, the same thing happened.

>tired
>start car
>jerks forward and dies
>whoops, left it in 1st
Thank the lord I had the handbrake on still.

The actual trans ;(
