Celica is actually more logical. She's only over emotional when it involves Alm cause he's special to her so she'll do the stupidest things if she thinks he's in danger. They're both dumb as well because they are sheltered teenagers burdened with a huge responsibility. I think it's more down to who's with who.
Alm has Clive and Lukas. Clive is an asshole to anyone not noble even if he's a little nicer than Fernand, while Lukas is much more down to earth, meaning Alm has balanced voices of reason. While Celica has everyone just going "Yeah she won't tell us, further into hell we go!"

Depends on if they want to maintain the 'mostly from Fateswakening' thing for any rereleases. If Lyn's one of the only Elibe characters it'd make sense to use her Awakening appearance so she's in line with the existing cast, but if they add 8~ Elibe characters or something they'll probably just use her old one.

You're right, their entourage is also very important. Unfortunately Celica's side is very subdued so she comes off even worse. It's basically an endless circle of people trying to get celica to open up while she's going on alone and everyone just follows.

Once you get that high you're going to need deathless runs to rank up which should be around 4700 assuming you have four 5* units.
